POSITION SUMMARY:

The Production Team Lead provides leadership and effectively manages production processes and team members under their area of supervision while complying with company policy.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Position will supervise team members and provide assistance to Production Supervisor.
  • Checks to ensure machines are correctly set-up per the production plan.
  • Audits required daily check sheets. Notes any deviations from standard.
  • Verifies team members are performing tasks per work standards and maintaining 5S standards.
  • Ensures department is meeting hourly/daily productivity requirements.
  • Should be capable of running all processes in their area including machine changeover.
  • Verifies parts inventories and utilizes safety stock when required. Must notify Supervisor of part shortages or inventory concerns.
  • Ensures “No Good N/G” parts are properly dispositioned and tagged though out the shift.
  • Alerts management or maintenance of issues causing production or machine downtime.
  • Verifies all parts and racks are clearly labeled and appropriately dispositioned throughout the department.
  • Follows and explains company policies and procedures to production team members.
  • Leads and ensures team members follow company safety requirements and PPE.
  • Supports and participates in EHS objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required. A 2-year degree preferred. Or combination of experience and education.
  • Prior experience in a team leader role in manufacturing preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management.

 SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Assists in supervising production team members in assigned area.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  Plant work environment with fluctuations in temperature (hotter in the summer, cooler in the winter).

  Exposure to certain noise levels and bright lights.

  Required to wear company-issued personal protective equipment such as steel toe shoes, glasses, gloves, etc.

 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  Lifting up to 50 lbs with or without assisting.

  Standing /Walking for extended periods.

  Sitting for extended periods.

  Ability to stay focused for extended periods of time.

  Ability to multitask.

  Ability to analyze information, identify problems.
