Manufacturing Engineer

Description

The successful candidate will join the Manufacturing Engineering Team and will be responsible for the design, process development and launch of new products for upcoming new vehicle models.  You will have the ability to work with minimal supervision within a team-based environment, excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and excellent time management skills.  Proficiency in Excel, Enterproj, Auto Cad or other modeling is also a benefit.   
Primary responsibilities include:
  • providing engineering support to production teams
  • drive data based continuous improvement activities
  • developing and selecting machines and processes for high volume production lines
  • providing training and support on production processes
  • managing and resolving issues and providing regular updates on your programs
Knowledge of the following is a definite asset:
  • Jig and fixture design in small automotive plastic and metallic part assembly cells
  • Brazing and soldering with experience in automotive circuit boards
  • PLC programming, industrial robotics and assembly automation
  • Automotive air conditioning systems and component/system development
  • Use of plastic components, metal forming and joining in the assembly process
 
Preferred candidates will possess a Mechanical Engineering degree or other related post secondary education.  A minimum of 3 – 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive is required.  Occasional travel is required for this position; therefore, applicants must possess a valid driver’s license and passport.
