Millwright Apprentice 433A (3rd or 4th year )

Description

Scope: Installs, changes layouts and sets up machines usually of a heavy nature. Has obtained Journeyman certificate/status as a millwright. Maintains and repairs Production Equipment and Facilities.  Perform Preventative Maintenance. 

Skills and Qualifications

 
Education:  Registered Industrial Millwright Apprentice in their third or fourth year. 
Experience:  2-5 years’ experience working with Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems experience preferably within an automotive or manufacturing environment.  Able to read blueprints, interpreting pneumatic and hydraulic schematics, and experience using tool room equipment and tools such as the drill press, lathes, and grinders, etc.  Familiar with Tag-out/Lockout.

Duties and Responsibilities

 
  • Maintains and repairs Production Equipment and Facilities.
  • Troubleshoots, maintains and repairs Production Machinery such as CNC machines, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment, and tool room machines such as lathes, milling machines, drill press, and grinder etc., to ensure an effective maintenance system and achieve the highest performance of the production equipment.
  • Have knowledge in hydraulic and pneumatic systems for the production equipment.
  • Complete work orders as required
  • Performs gas and electric welding.
  • Ensures that all work and inspections are properly documented.
  • Sets up and operates tool room machinery such as lathe, milling machine, grinder etc.
  • Works under general supervision and follows all safety precautions and procedures.
