Title:  Whitfield Place Programs Coordinator 339505005 

Department:  Whitfield Commons, Whitfield Place

Reports To:  Director, Whitfield Commons, Whitfield Place

Shift:  8:30am-5:00pm Monday-Friday with occasional weekends

Status:  Full Time

 

JOB SUMMARY

Programs Coordinator for Whitfield Commons/Whitfield Place is responsible for coordination and development of programs and activities to benefit the residents and better educate them to deal with routine situations in regard to their environment and healthful living; to coordinate activities on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis; assist with office procedures and physical plant operations; be responsible for compliance with all US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) policies and procedures in addition to all Hamilton Health Care System and Hamilton Medical Center policies and procedures.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  High School diploma or equivalent required with background in activities coordination and/or experience in leadership of groups such a church or civic organizations coordination.

Licensure:  None required; must be willing to train in HUD, HHCS, HMC training.

Experience:  Previous working experience with group leadership; Knowledge of senior citizen and handicapped requirements; coordination experience preferred in regard to programs, activities, and other social events; willingness to be accessible to needs of others; patience in dealing with repetitive situations

Skills:  Must be patient and understanding but firm in regard for regulation and policies; communications skills necessary to coordinate resident activities and programs and motivate participation; introduce new programs and activities and improve existing when necessary; good listener with ability to promote understanding and be able to deal with may interruptions.
