Job Description and Performance Standards
Title: Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) 441003002
Department: Hamilton Emergency Medical Services
Reports To: Hamilton EMS Shift Leader (Captain or Lieutenant)
Shift: Days vary; 7:00am - 7:00pm / 7:00am - 7:00am
Responds to routine and emergency calls and provides medical evaluation and treatment for patients of all age populations within the scope of Advanced EMT training.
Education: High School, Completion of a State Approved Advanced EMT Course of Study.
Licensure: Current valid driver’s license, current Georgia AEMT certification, BLS CPR required. NREMT-AEMT preferred.
Experience: Previous experience desirable.
Skills: Demonstrates proficiency in patient care skills for scope of practice. A working knowledge of basic computer application.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to work under stressful conditions in all types of weather. Must display motor coordination, manual dexterity and physical condition, to lift, carry, extricate and administer care to patients, possess both near and far visual acuity necessary for driving a vehicle (day or night). Corrective lenses permitted. Ability to prioritize work assignments.
