Title: Cardiovascular Specialist non-RN 554286201
Department: Invasive Cardiovascular
Reports To: Cardiovascular Services Manager
Shift: 6:30am-3:00pm Monday-Friday with Occasional Weeknight and Weekend Call
Status: Full Time
JOB SUMMARY
Participates as a member of the invasive cardiovascular services team. Assists the physician during the various procedures performed in the cardiac and endovascular labs. Will be expected to rotate through the team positions, contributing to the efficient operation of the department, promoting Hamilton Medical Center’s philosophy, and ensuring the quality and continuity of patient care. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age appropriate care. Must proactively support the efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and service. This is to include diagnostic and interventional procedures as well as device implants and cardiac ablations.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: At least an A.S. degree in one of the following health care fields: Radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or CV Tech program
Licensure: Holds a current certification or licensure in area of expertise in field listed above.
Experience: Meets minimum education requirements as above. ACLS must be obtained within 2 months of hire and maintained.
Skills: Ability to perform in critical care situations. Ability to use physiological monitoring and related equipment. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and employees within the organization. Ability to obtain and interpret information terms of the patients needs that are age appropriate. Ability to select proper instrumentation/supplies appropriate for age group of patient served.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Worker must adjust to performing routine, repetitive tasks under specific supervision. Worker will be performing in a radiation area. Worker is required to be "on feet" most of the day and work is moderately heavy. Requires full range of motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Extensive amounts of critical care nursing are required. Worker must be able to adjust routine to accommodate patient or department without affecting departmental flow.
