Job Description and Performance Standards
Title: Respiratory Therapist 554366504
Department: Respiratory Care
Reports To: Clinical Manager
Shift: 7:00pm - 7:00am / Days Vary
The Staff Therapist is responsible for the performance of all therapeutic respiratory care procedures for patients of all age populations, human resources management and quality control to insure the continued achievement of the patient care philosophy of Hamilton Medical Center.
Education: Associate of Science in Respiratory Technology and as evidenced by primary source of verification.
Licensure: AHA BLS CPR required. Respiratory Care Professional license issued by the State of Georgia. RRT credential. If new graduate, RRT credential must be obtained within 6 months of initial hire date.
Experience: Graduate from AMA school of Respiratory Therapy
Skills: Adult and Neonatal Critical Care and general familiarity with routine respiratory therapy.
ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Delivers Respiratory Care in patient care areas with possible exposure to contagious diseases.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL EFFORT
Moderate amount of walking with some stooping, bending, and exertion. Some mental stress associated with decision making in critical care as well as managerial decisions made when in a charge position.
