Job Description and Performance Standards
Title: LPN - $40 Short Term Assignment - Dalton, GA
Department: Emergency Care Department
Reports To: Clinical Manager
Hours: Casual Short-Term Assignment, Up to 8 Weeks
Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, utilizes the nursing process in the care of infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients experiencing both acute and chronic changes in the normal health process.
Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing.
Licensure: Current LPN License in the State of Georgia, BLS CPR required
Experience: Three years experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Emergency Care Department preferred.
Skills: Nursing skills as defined in the Law Governing the Practice of Licensed Practical Nursing in Georgia. Participates in planning one (1) inservice for LPN's in the Emergency Care Department and participates in collection of Quality Improvement data for the department. Certification in Blood Glucose Monitoring.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Works in typical acute health care setting with infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients experiencing a wide range of medical and/or surgical problems. Required to work flexible schedule including weekends. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions. Requires exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
