Title: Polysomnographic Technologist
Department: Sleep Lab
Reports To: Clinical Coordinator, Sleep Disorders Center
Shift: 8:30pm - 7:00am
Status: PRN

JOB SUMMARY
Performs various Sleep Disorders Testing, maintains patient records, documentation, and files, as well as scores studies while recording artifact-free records.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent (GED).
Licensure: R.PSG.T, Graduate of an EEG or Respiratory Therapy Program (RRT, CRT, SDS)
Experience: Twelve (12) months in Sleep Disorders Testing or EEG preferred.
Skills: CPR, familiarity with computers and soft ware programs, ability to effectively troubleshoot equipment.
ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to perform all Sleep Lab procedures and testing (including scoring). Any unusual occurrences and/or quality issues MUST be reported to the Clinical Coordinator of the Sleep Disorders Lab.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL EFFORT
Required to sit, stand, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must concentrate, and monitor effectively. Requires 10-12 hour shifts and weekend work as directed. Technologists are not to leave patients unattended unless retrieving another scheduled patient.
