Title: Financial Clearance Manager – 339001682

Department: Central Business Office

Reports To: Executive Director, Patient Business Services

Shift: Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm

Status: Full Time

JOB SUMMARY

Supervises operations and support functions for scheduling.  Directly oversees scheduling and pre-registration staff members and is responsible for ensuring their work output is satisfactory and their concerns are resolved.  Oversees department operations to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction, optimal billing and reimbursement.  Communicates with physician offices and insurance carriers to obtain approvals, prior to patient arrival date, test or procedure.  Performs duties to promote a BEST PLACE to work culture and positive work environment and to ensure adherence to policy, procedure and regulations; a champion for improving Patient Satisfaction and a leader for Service Excellence.  Performs back-up duties in scheduling and pre-registration and assists in the development of policy and/or procedure updates, as needed. Maintains in-depth knowledge of the Soarian Scheduling and PayNav systems.   Provides on call week end support to staff members for scheduling and pre-registration. Assist in all hiring and related personnel decisions.  Ability to make an independent decision, free from immediate direction or supervision, in interpreting, formulating and or implementing management policies or operating practices.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree required.

Licensure: N/A

Experience: Three (3) years’ experience in hospital facility; having experience working with health care insurance carriers.  Some supervisory experience preferred.                

Skills: Online scheduling system, preferably Soarian scheduling. Have extensive knowledge of pre-certification and billing processes.  Ability to follow oral and written instructions.  Ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors, physicians, and employees within the organization.  Ability to coordinate activities and manage employees.  Ability to work with physician offices to enhance current processes.

Average office environment with normal noise levels.    Worker must be able to adjust routine to accommodate patient or department without effecting departmental flow.  Worker must adjust to performing routine, repetitive tasks under specific supervision.
