JOB SUMMARY

Hamilton Physician Group (“HPG”) is a multi-subspecialty physician group practice a controlled affiliate of Hamilton medical Center, Inc., (“HMC”).  HMC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hamilton Healthcare System, Inc. (“HHCS”).  HPG was created as a responsive, scalable and adaptable physician enterprise to meet the long-term community need for medical specialties within the Dalton, Georgia and surrounding communities that for various reasons may not be optimally provided for or sustainable by the independent medical staff.  Such medical services may include without limitation, primary care, cardiology, convenient care, spine, neurology and others.

Assists the physician by transcribing the physician notes into the patient’s chart.  Works directly with the physician to know which templates to use when appropriate.  Has an understanding of the terminology used by the physician when transcribing the information into the chart.  When the physician is not in the office the Scribe will work with administrative staff in order to continually improve patient care.  The Scribe will assist in getting PA’s approved and denied procedures corrected.  They will provide clinical support to team members and perform other duties as required.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  High school graduate or equivalent

Licensure:  Preferred Certified as one of the following:  CNA, MOA, MA

Experience:  1-2 years’ experience in a clinical setting is required or clinical student

Skills: Good oral, written-and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external customers.  Commitment to providing excellent patient service.  Ability to remain calm and courteous when handling difficult calls and requests.  Must maintain confidentiality regarding all patient interactions, documents and communications.  Ability to interpret and follow oral documented procedures, instructions, laws, and policies.  Ability to project a positive and professional image on behalf of the organization.  Prior experience in customer service and/or performing administrative duties a plus.  Intermediate proficiency level using PC and related programs such as, Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint, Outlook/email and Internet.  Ability to perform data entry with accuracy speed and meticulous attention to detail.  Knowledge of and ability to perform basic math calculations.  Knowledge and ability to properly use Medical Terminology.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Works in outpatient clinic and acute health care setting with adult, neonates, pediatric, adolescents and geriatric patients with minor health related medical problems.  Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.  Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.  Occasionally lifts and carries items up to 50 pounds.  Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.  Requires working under stressful conditions.  Requires exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
