SUMMARY: 
Grand Central Publishing, a division of Hachette Book Group, seeks a Marketing Associate to join our team. 
This role will have the opportunity to aid in all aspects of developing strategic title marketing campaigns and collaborate across teams on imprint-wide initiatives. Working closely with the authors, you will be hands-on in the creation and execution of customized campaigns for primarily nonfiction publications across memoir, narrative and topical nonfiction, self-help, and more. This is an exciting opportunity for an engaged, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic marketer. 
  
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  • Support senior marketing team members in creating and executing innovative and strategic brand and title campaigns for priority projects 
  • Individually manage title-marketing strategies, advertising campaigns, analytics, and budgets for a host of titles per season  
  • Liaise with publishing, editorial, sales, publicity and the larger marketing department to implement cohesive campaigns and promotions
  • Communicate marketing updates to sales, authors, agents, and other stakeholders as needed
  • Pitch organizations, VIPs, social media influencers, and partners for cross-promotional opportunities for single titles as appropriate 
  • Contribute to the imprint social media, website, and newsletter channels as needed 
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
 
  • 2 or more years experience in marketing or publishing with a demonstrated ability to innovate and manage multiple projects at once 
  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative team, while also having full ownership of your work and autonomy to craft and implement plans for your titles 
  • Fluency in key marketing concepts and tools including email, social media marketing, influencer partnerships, and search engine marketing and optimization. 
  • Experience presenting in front of large groups including internal meetings and with outside partners 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and thrive in a busy working environment 
This is a NYC-based opportunity. Please note our current hybrid model is two days per week in the office. Effective in January 2025, HBG’s hybrid model will be 3 days in-office, 2 days working from home.

The compensation range for this position is $53,200 - $56,000. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location — talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
