Children’s Marketing Manager
This position reports to the Associate Publisher of Workman Kids and resides within the Workman Kids publishing group. This role is the title marketing lead for the Workman Kids (including Educational Resources, which publishes Brain Quest, Big Fat Notebooks, Learn By Sticker, etc.). The ideal candidate will have Children's Book Marketing Experience and be a passionate advocate of children's books.
Location: The role is NYC based. HBG's current hybrid working model is two days in the office per week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  
  • Collaborate with Associate Publisher and SVP, Publisher to create overall strategy for titles, including consulting on proposed ad plans, budgets, messaging, etc.
  • Maintain and monitor all social media platforms for Workman Kids and Brain Quest social media
  • Brainstorm, draft, and execute marketing plans for lead Workman Kids
  • Request creation of ads and sales materials, working with Creative Services and Digital Marketing team
  • Craft bookseller letters, newsletter and social media copy, ad copy, partnership pitches, etc.
  • Collaborate with Creative Services and Creative Director on Amazon A+ detail graphics
  • Coordinate with Sales on mailings, outreach to accounts, promotional pieces, and more, including Barnes and Noble manager mailings and Indie Next campaigns
  • Determine galley quantities
  • Maintain title metadata and Edelweiss information, including up-to-date information and graphic assets; Review and update keywords and Comparative Titles
  • Provide input/guidance on children’s content in the Workman New Releases newsletter and Hachette-wide direct to consumer newsletters
  • Manage author participation in key children’s conferences and trade shows; attending select events as needed
  • Read submissions and provide feedback at the weekly Workman Children’s Acquisition & Cover Meeting
  • This role works closely and meets regularly with the Hachette Children’s School & Library Marketing Manager and the SVP, Publisher, Workman Children's

The compensation range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location — talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
