Advertising and Marketing Coordinator-James Patterson Books

SUMMARY:
The Advertising and Marketing Coordinator supports the Marketing & Publicity Director and collaborates with the marketing team to develop and execute advertising campaigns and marketing initiatives for James Patterson and JIMMY Patterson Books.  This role works closely with outside agencies, freelancers, and other key stakeholders, including authors and agents.

This job will assist with the booking, creation, and execution of consumer advertising campaigns including television, print, and digital as well as other consumer marketing initiatives.This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the marketing team in developing and implementing strategies and campaigns for titles, including the planning, buying, and creative development for advertising campaigns that include broadcast, print, digital and out-of-home
  • Work and build relationships with external agencies as well as media contacts
  • Track all advertising milestones by title including creative statuses, outlets, and dates
  • Coordinate with freelance copywriters and artists for asset scheduling and delivery
  • Explore new consumer outlets and provide recommendations to stakeholders
  • Perform analysis on select campaigns and present to marketing team

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • 1-2 years of experience in marketing or advertising at a book publisher, media company, or agency
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Proven ability to deliver timely, accurate work product and demonstrate good follow up and follow through
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and meet quick deadlines
  • Superb verbal and written communication skills
  • Interest in and enthusiasm for book publishing, advertising, and marketing
