Key Accounts Manager

SUMMARY:
Hachette Book Group (HBG), a leading book publisher, is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented candidate to build and lead a team of Key Account Analysts.  The Key Accounts Manager will report to the Director, Fulfillment – Enterprise Customer Success and be responsible for managing the operational relationships with HBG’s largest, high profile retail partners. The ideal candidate will possess leadership, project management, and strong analytical skills as the keys to success in this role.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Create KPIs to successfully meet the operational goals of HBG’s highest grossing retail partners
  • Develop expertise in HBG’s procedures, systems, and policies to maximize operational efficiency
  • Work closely with Sales, IT, Distribution, and Fulfillment leadership to drive operational compliance leading to chargeback reduction and prevention
  • Provide escalation support to ensure win-win scenarios for HBG, our distribution clients, and retail partners
  • Utilize data to drive operational change and efficiency
  • Hire, retain, and develop a team of Key Account Analysts to support HBG’s largest retail partners
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED: 
  • 4+ years of management experience leading customer success/operational teams
  • Effective at setting goals, tracking success metrics, and motivating a team to achieve results 
  • Understands how to leverage data to optimize strategy and execution 
  • Partners effectively with other cross-departmental teams to deliver on the operational goals of HBG and our retail partners 
  • Ability to attract, retain, and develop top talent 
  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence presenting to C-level executives on a regular basis
  • Ability to thrive under pressure, effectively problem solve, and react quickly to changes
  • Self starter with a high desire to achieve goals
  • Willingness to learn and use unfamiliar technology/systems
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience working with complex data sets
  • Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with Zendesk a plus

The compensation range for this position is $60,000 - $77,000. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location — talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
