What is the position's mission

Responsible for guiding the troubleshooting efforts of customer field and service center technicians, diagnosing unit concerns called in or submitted to our Solutions Call Center to ensure customer satisfaction. 

 

What will you do? Autocar, LLC is currently looking for a Mobile Heavy Equipment/Truck Solutions Technician to work in the Autocar Service department.  In this role you will travel throughout the week in a mobile service truck visiting Key Customers, diagnosing issues with their trucks and providing timely on-site repairs. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and guide the troubleshooting efforts of customer field and service center technicians, diagnosing unit concerns called in or submitted to our Solutions Call Center to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinates and works with service centers and customers on the repair activities to provide technical assistance to any individual associated with an Autocar product that has contacted Autocar for help.
  • Daily interaction with key customers.
  • Initially you will participate in a well-structured inside technical support training program designed to provide a strong knowledge-base in all aspects of the business. The purpose of the program is to prepare you for a successful career in Service.
  • Manage incoming tickets for their assigned area, at times traveling to location of truck repairs with objective of ensuring low truck downtimes and high customer satisfaction.

 

The ideal candidate is a demonstrated problem solver who is process driven and tenacious at determining the optimal solution for the customer.

 

Requirements:

  • Certificate from a technical institute preferred; High school diploma required.
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification preferred.
  • Cummins Certification and Allison Certification are preferred.
  • HVAC certification/license preferred.
  • Experience reading and understanding electrical schematics and truck part prints required.
  • 2-5 years of experience troubleshooting and solving mechanical problem.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Vehicles preferred.
  • A&P background strongly preferred.
  • Class A- Commercial Driver License or ability to obtain within year of start of employment.
  • Working knowledge of pneumatic brakes and hydraulic systems.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Stellar attention to detail.
  • Background in Customer service a plus.
  • Ability to communicate and be detail-oriented over the phone.
  • Proven self-starter.
  • Familiarity with Cummins engines a plus.
