What will you do?

Summary

GVW Group is completing various real estate acquisitions and is hiring due to that growth. The candidate will work with Management and the Senior Accountant to ensure that back-office processes are in place to allow for the growth to happen in a controlled manner. The candidate will complete the month-end close process, all reconciliations, payables and receivables, lease analysis, rental and receivables management, and various projects and financial reporting.

The position will eventually assume some other accounting functions within a sister company but is expected to be 100% dedicated to the Real Estate business in a short period of time.

Key Outcomes

  • Manage the day-to-day finance processes with Brokers, General Contractors, Project Manager, and banks.
  • Management of payables and receivables from tenants
  • Control of new investment/acquisitions or remodeling costs
  • Monthly Financial statements complete and accurate
  • Support to the operations team on financial information for the business model
  • Ad-hoc reports as requested by management


Responsiblities:

  • Perform the month-end close and adhere to reporting timeline
  • Perform back-office accounting functions including reconciliations, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, and the creation of monthly management reports and financial statements.
  • Review fixed asset ledgers to ensure items are properly capitalized and depreciated
  • Account for and reconcile cost reports together with General Contractors
  • Cash management for assigned project bank accounts
  • Manage receivables from tenants and follow up on past dues
  • Lease accounting & analysis - owning this process
  • Ensure financial records are GAAP compliant.
  • Prepare and/or review a variety of routine and ad hoc financial reports for management and other internal customers
  • Liaison with internal and external auditors
  • Respond to routine and non-routine inquiries from field offices, tax consultants, other departments and colleagues
  • Other duties as assigned for the Autocar or GVW companies

 

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Business, Accounting or Finance required
  • 2-4 years of Accounting experience, preferably 1-2 in the Real Estate industry
  • Strong communicator with an ambition to learn and add value
  • Cross-functional, ability to work in various accounting disciplines
  • Self-starter and ability to work with minimal supervision
