Technical Engineer Job Description

 

Summary

 

The primary responsibility of the Technical Engineer is to provide hands-on engineering and technical support to enhance and ensure the quality and systems function of assembled trucks as delivered to customers. Technical Engineers will perform all aspects of continuous improvement in the quality and systems of assembled trucks, including but not limited to:

 

  1.                Support engineering team in design, assembly, inspection, testing and troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and other systems.
  2.                Review design drawings, assembly instructions and specifications to identify potential issues affecting technical, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and other systems.
  3.                Analyze product assembly; identify and resolve technical issues, rework or re-engineer components and inaccurate assembly before truck is delivered to customer.
  4.                Identify and correct potentially recurring technical or quality issues and notify relevant stakeholders in a timely manner. Develop or implement corrective measures to prevent frequent problems.
  5.                Coordinate with engineers and other team members to ensure quality products are completed on schedule and according to design specifications and assembly processes.
  6.                Collect data and reports regarding technical issues; analyze, identify, and solve technical problems with assembled trucks. Conduct quality checks on technical systems and assembly completion, and assess, document, correct and report deviations.
  7.                Assist engineering team in revising or retraining on assembly instructions or systems specifications.
  8.                Inspect or test product and key systems to ensure quality product delivery to customer.

 

Preferred Experience

  •       Bachelor's Degree or equivalent degree in relevant engineering discipline required.
  •       Experience in manufacturing environment, preferably assembly in the automotive or heavy truck industry
  •       Understanding and experience with technical, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and other systems
  •       Strong work ethic, great attitude, and willingness to learn
  •       Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with ability to manage multiple priorities at once
  •       Production-oriented and hands-on; excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  •       Ability to follow instructions and collaborate with others.
  •       Effective communicator across all levels of the organization
