What will you do? The Sales Intelligence Strategist will play a critical role in transforming complex customer data into impactful sales strategies. This strategic partner will also develop the tools, protocols, and training to enable the adoption of strategic selling throughout Autocar. Drawing on your sales background, you will analyze customer profiles, buying patterns, and behavioral insights to deliver actionable intelligence in a format the sales team can easily apply. With an understanding of cognitive sales principles, you will create baseline scripts, define value propositions, and equip the sales team with the tools they need for targeted and timely engagement. This role is ideal for a data-driven strategist with strong sales skills who excels at turning insights into practical tools for the sales team.
Key Responsibilities
- Demand Creation:
- Development of initial value propositions
- Mapping the roles and agenda of decision-makers and influencers within the customer’s organization
- Developing & delivering a quantifiable value proposition, which creates strong customer demand for Autocar trucks
- Demand Capture:
- Measuring the value proposition against actual outcomes to improve future sales pursuits and to customer perceptions of Autocar
- Customer Insights & Sales Enablement:
- Analyze customer data, including buying DNA and behavioral patterns, to deliver clear, actionable insights that the sales team can easily apply in real-time interactions.
- Based on assessment data identify new business opportunities and market segments
- Strategic Script Development:
- Synthesize data from multiple sources to create baseline scripts, empowering sales representatives with consistent, high-impact messaging aligned with customer profiles.
- Support the sales team in crafting sales pitches for prospective clients.
- Behavioral Selling Techniques:
- Apply behavioral selling techniques to shape strategies that resonate with customers’ decision-making processes, enhancing engagement and building trust.
- Targeting & Timing Strategy:
- Provide sales teams with a toolbox for understanding optimal timing and target engagement, enabling strategic customer interactions that align with buying signals.
- Value Proposition Creation:
- Develop compelling value propositions based on customer needs, helping the sales team convey the unique benefits of our products.
- Customer Profiling & Segmentation:
- Create detailed customer profiles and market segments, helping the sales team target and engage the right customer groups effectively.
- Collaboration with Sales Teams:
- Partner closely with the sales team to ensure insights and strategies are practical, adaptable, and aligned with real-world conditions and feedback.
- Performance Tracking & Reporting:
- Regularly assess the effectiveness of strategies, scripts, and sales tools, adjusting as needed to drive continuous improvement and better outcomes.
- Competitive & Market Analysis:
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activity, and evolving customer needs to keep strategies relevant and competitive.
- Execution:
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the organization.
Interim goals will include:
- Identifying and agreeing to target 100 opportunities
- Developing initial value propositions for these opportunities
- Developing the tools, protocols, and training to enable the adoption of strategic selling throughout Autocar
- Populating these tools for the 100 agreed opportunities
- Customer Relationship Mapping
- Developing & delivering value propositions for the targeted sales

- Deciding factors in the decision-making process
- Data mining the close rate (%) on Autocar’s historic strategic sales pursuits and increasing the close rate by 30%
What does it take to successfully undertake this role?
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Data Analytics, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- Experience: 3+ years in a sales role, with experience transitioning into strategy or sales intelligence.
- Skills:
- Proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to convert data into actionable sales insights.
- Familiarity with behavioral selling, customer profiling, and market segmentation.
- Experience creating value propositions and understanding customer buying patterns.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively deliver complex data in actionable formats.
- Project management skills, with a focus on timely execution and attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate across departments and influence key stakeholders.
