Position Summary

The Manager of Information Security is a hands-on leadership position responsible for developing, executing, and continuously improving a comprehensive cybersecurity program that safeguards the GVW Group enterprise IT environment. Reporting directly to the President of Aculocity, with a dotted line to the holding company, this role combines strategic responsibility with active technical involvement.

Reporting to Sr. Director of Security and Infrastructure, this individual will lead and mentor a growing security team, while also remaining deeply involved in day-to-day security operations, architecture decisions, threat response, and solution implementation. The role requires both a strong technical foundation and leadership skills to guide people, influence culture, and drive security maturity across a complex enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage cybersecurity technologies including SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management, IAM, and secure cloud configurations.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a cybersecurity team with a focus on capability-building, performance accountability, and growth.
  • Build and maintain a risk-based, cost-effective cybersecurity strategy aligned with evolving threats and business objectives.
  • Personally conduct and guide risk assessments, threat modeling, and incident investigations.
  • Maintain and enforce security governance, policies, and controls in line with NIST, ISO 27001, and other regulatory frameworks.
  • Embed AI-driven detection, threat intelligence, and automation into security operations.
  • Champion Zero Trust principles and drive secure-by-design practices in infrastructure and application development.
  • Lead incident response efforts, including hands-on involvement in detection, containment, remediation, and post-incident analysis.
  • Drive organization-wide security awareness through training, communication, and role-based education.
  • Track program effectiveness using KPIs, dashboards, and continuous improvement metrics.
  • Oversee vendor and third-party security reviews, contract language, and ongoing assurance measures.

Key Attributes & Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading cybersecurity initiatives while remaining technically engaged.
  • Proficiency in modern security technologies including EDR, SIEM, cloud security controls, and identity governance.
  • Deep understanding of security frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, COBIT, and ITIL.
  • Strong mentoring and leadership capabilities with a focus on team development and empowerment.
  • Business-minded communicator with the ability to explain risk and strategy to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Project management expertise, especially in cross-functional and enterprise-scale initiatives.
  • Manufacturing or industrial security experience is a strong plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA) are highly desirable.
