Job Overview:
The Test Engineering position is responsible for closely working with the engineering design teams to help develop test plans, hands-on test preparation, execution, reporting and associated activities. The candidate will be part of a diverse team performing product testing in support of validating product functionality, performance, reliability, durability and compliance with regulatory standards.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Develop test plans that align with the overall goals and objectives of the organization.
- A disciplined approach in job execution, following established protocols and standards, detailed and complete documentation and document retention.
- Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure products are free of defects and meet customer expectations.
- Collaborate with engineering to design and build new test rigs and continuously improve existing facilities.
- Implement appropriate testing tools and frameworks to automate repetitive and time-consuming tasks.
- Effective teamwork with the global engineering teams, operations, sales and service.
- Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in ME, EE, equivalent MET or EET, or Computer Science with relevant experience in vehicle systems development.
- At least 2 years’ engineering experience in a similar environment, e.g. controls engineering, vehicle software development and validation.
- A basic working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems on vehicles.
- Experience with SOMAT eDAQ, DEWESoft and/or nCode Glyphworks preferred.
- Experience with test instrumentation, data acquisition, complex measuring chains, strain gauges, load cells, pressure transducers, displacement transducers, accelerometers and thermocouples (among others) preferred.
- Experience with vibration analysis and associated analytical tools preferred.

Physical Requirements:
- Capable of wearing task specific personal protective equipment which may include dust mask, air purifying respirator (i.e., half and/or full faced), safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection.
- Capable of meeting OSHA standards for manual lifting guidelines: < 50lbs
- While performing the duties of this job it is required to stand, walk, and use hands to operate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands or arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch when necessary for job activity.
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
- The ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures.
