IT Support Manager

Engineering Santa Monica, California


GumGum, a rapidly growing computer vision company, is looking for an IT Support Manager. Reporting directly into the CTO, the IT Support Manager will be a key contributor to the company's expanding corporate IT infrastructure.  

  • Manage IT Support team including hiring, performance management, and career development
  • Standardize software, equipment, and processes across multiple offices and oversee new office build-outs
  • Design and execute projects to improve systems and operations
  • Develop and document new support and operations processes
  • Maintain accurate asset management and software license records
  • Interface with 3rd party IT support organizations
  • Support employees in resolving problems with IT, AV, and communications systems
  • Oversee team operations in multiple office locations having the responsibility of:
    • Maintaining computer and phone systems and networks
    • Installing and configuring office equipment such as printers and scanners
    • Purchasing staff desktops, laptops, and other devices.
    • Installing and maintaining desktop software, including virus protection
    • Managing user accounts including shared logins to 3rd party services
    • Face-to-face, phone, and email support for staff and occasionally clients
    • Remote support of employees working from home or in other offices
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in managing IT support teams
  • Experience with purchasing, inventory management, and budgeting
  • Solid foundation in IT support with strong competencies in computer repair, phone systems, and audio/visual components
  • Understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, Email, HTTP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP/IP protocols and applications
  • Experience with hosted productivity and communications applications, including Google Apps, Dropbox, MS Office, JIRA, Adobe, and Zoom
  • Advanced understaning of JIRA is a plus
  • Experience with desktop operating systems, primarily Mac OS X, but also Ubuntu Linux, and Windows
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Highly self motivated and directed
  • Patience, analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Willingness to occasionally work nights, weekends, or holidays
