Accounting Manager

We are looking for a dynamic individual to join as Accounting Manager within our Accounting department to manage day-to-day accounting functions at GumGum. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Accounting Manager will be a key member of the Accounting team. This position’s primary areas of focus will be leading all aspects of the month-end closing process including coordinating and consolidating international entities. The Accounting Manager will supervise accounting staff and is responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner.


  • Lead monthly closing process including review and post journal entries, review account reconciliations, consolidation, and prepare monthly financial statements.
  • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close.
  • Oversee the operations of the accounting department for the parent company and its international subsidiaries in accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Work closely with external auditors in preparation and execution of annual audit.
  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
  • Assist the Corporate Controller in banking/treasury functions.
  • Support the budget and forecasting activities.
  • Maintain appropriate internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial and management reports.
  • Ensure the monthly and quarterly control activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
  • Work with direct reports to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of team.
  • Prepare and maintain working papers to support tax compliance in unison with external tax firms.
  • Keep abreast of new regulations and best practices to ensure policies and procedures are in accordance with GAAP.
  • Support special projects and other requirements as needed.


  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in accounting.
  • CPA preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in supervisory role in general accounting/finance, including in-depth understanding of the month-end close process.
  • Advanced skills and experience in Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple high priorities in a fast-paced environment and have a willingness to learn.
  • Experience with international accounting and consolidation a plus
  • Experience in tech startup environment/advertising industry a plus
