Then we connect them to people who are seeking increased freedom and independence, so that together, they can experience all kinds of life adventures.  As one of our Licensed Veterinary Technicians, you will play a part in making that happen!
 
Working with our dogs will inspire you!  As one of our Licensed Veterinary Technicians, you will become an expert on our Labrador Retrievers and German Shepherds while working hand-in-hand with our Veterinarians to ensure optimal health for our breeding dogs, puppies, and those selected to become successful guides.  You will perform clinical and administrative duties at our full-service Veterinary Hospital.  With us, your expertise ensures our amazing dogs receive the best possible care and their optimal health is maintained from breeding through retirement and all stages in between, all while you work alongside a close-knit, supportive team.  
 
This position will primarily report to our Yorktown campus with travel to our Patterson campus as needed
 
The Role
  • Oversee all aspects of the Veterinary Hospital function, including, but not limited to, scheduling of procedures, maintaining cleanliness of prep room and surgery areas, equipment care, preparation of animals for procedures, maintain inventory and ordering of medical supplies for both the Yorktown and Patterson hospitals 
  • Perform routine dental prophylaxis and radiology
  • Prepare dogs for surgery and monitor anesthesia under the direction of a Veterinarian
  • Administer emergency care, including the administration of IV fluids or appropriate medications
  • Advise Staff at our Patterson campus on care of hospitalized dogs in the Puppy Program or care for sick dogs
  • Communicate with Training staff as needed on animal care
  • Maintain records on patient care, both written and electronically, with particular emphasis on drug administration
  • Responsible for after care of dogs 
  • Scheduling of procedures, exams, heartworm tests and vaccine administration 
  • Perform other duties as assigned
 
Qualifications You Will Need 
  • NYS license required
  • At least one (1) year experience working in a Veterinary Hospital preferred
  • Strong Veterinary Technician/Kennel experience and skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Reliability, high level of integrity, and punctuality are essential
  • This is an essential personnel position so flexibility in availability is a must
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs; Salesforce savvy a plus
  • Physically able to lift, carry and handle 65-75 pound dogs 
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License
 
Salary Range (annually) $55k - $60k
