The Role:
The Marketing & Business Development Manager will create and implement marketing, business development and communication initiatives and strategies that reflect the firm’s brand and positioning and achieves strategic, proactive media coverage in support of key business goals with a primary focus on supporting the London office and working collaboratively across Europe and with professionals in the United States. The role will be responsible for a small marketing team in the London office.
Responsibilities:
- Works with the London office leadership and firm-wide marketing team to create and execute a proactive business development and marketing program that supports the firm’s strategy and aligns with global practice objectives
- Works with London practice heads on specialised marketing and business development needs including media, events, client targeting and collateral materials
- Oversees client-facing documents including pitches, proposals, presentations, and responses to RFPs while ensuring delivery and/or production requirements are met
- Manages the business development process by working with the marketing intelligence team on research requirements and practice development managers on capabilities and experience requirements
- Collaborates with the communications team on GT Alerts, press releases, social media and strategic communication needs in the UK market
- Develops story/content priorities and outreach strategies designed to build thought leadership including media placements, bylined articles, newsletters, alerts, speaking engagements, multimedia presentations and other targeted efforts
- Seeks out new opportunities to place attorneys/stories in client-facing media, including local, national, legal, business and targeted trade publications
- Provides media relations support, including pitching and monitoring interviews and prepping attorneys with talking points and media coaching
- Writes press releases, internal communications and other media collateral as needed
- Provides social media support
- Plans and oversees events including receptions, roundtables, seminars, client dinners, sponsorships, and other client-centric and office-related events
- Plans, researches, monitors, writes, and executes awards submissions and nominations
- Compiles information and collaborates with lawyers on submissions for directory and ranking authorities such as Chambers & Partners, Legal 500, IFLR, as well as award nominations
- Maintains London-based practice descriptions and representative experience
- Creates and repurposes content for external communications on various platforms
- Coordinates with third-party vendors on a variety of projects
- Collaborates with marketing and other business professionals throughout the firm across functions and teams to provide information about London capabilities, experience and statistics.

Qualifications:
An undergraduate degree in Marketing would be advantageous.
