Position Summary: 

The Senior Accountant reports to the GL Accounting Manager. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, general ledger accountability and financial reporting, as well as other special projects as assigned. 
This role requires strong problem solving skills in accounting and finance, with a focus on taxes and audit requirements for US offices and the understanding of process, quality and efficiency of work product. Collaboration with local accountants and GT’s tax group to find the right solution is encouraged and expected.   


Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Monitors accounting practices and workflows as well as the month end close process to ensure compliance and consistency with Firm accounting
  • General ledger accounting and mapping; fixed asset accounting
  • Processes month-end balancing and journal entries
  • Supports treasury and payment functions by reviewing and approving wire transfers for the Firm
  • Ensures all necessary reconciliations (e.g. between Aderant and local statutory systems) are being done on a timely basis; account analysis
  • Prepares, reviews and analyzes financial statements
  • Supports FP&A team and Tax department with acquiring information and preparing any needed information for performance analysis
  • Supports month-end and year-end close process
  • Ensures compliance with Accounting principles
  • Documents business processes and accounting policies and controls; spots errors and identifies ways to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Provides input into department’s goal setting process; drive improvements in processes or policies
  • Updates Accounting/Finance department SharePoint site with all necessary supporting documentation

  • Understanding Aderant (ERP)  basic entries and related FX and tax implications

Qualifications & Prior Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required (Masters in Accounting preferred)
  • CPA required
  • Minimum 5 or more years’ experience of general accounting from a legal or service-related industry, Big Four experience preferred
  • Experience with special applications (CMS/Aderant Expert and/or Concur) preferred
  • Highly proficient in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
