Senior Analyst, Business Intelligence & Data Visualization 

VML is looking for a smart, passionate person with business savvy to help power the Innovation and Data Group. The primary function of this role is to be a part of a team responsible for driving the strategic vision and execution for Business Intelligence and Data Visualization. This role will support the capability of the team and company. You will own and be responsible for the building of a portfolio of enterprise-wide dashboards. Please note this role will be based in Toronto but will support our US team.

What you will do?

• Design, develop, and maintain data visualization reports and executive-level interactive dashboards on Power BI to communicate insights and analytics
• Engage with stakeholders and analytics business partners to understand business needs, data analysis needs and translate requirements into comprehensive Power BI reports
• Collaborate with stakeholders and data engineers to understand data requirements, data architecture and identify optimal approaches to visualize and report on high-volume dynamic data
• Write complex DAX queries against semantic models and OLAP data structures to support calculations and measures based on data analysis requirements
• Create intuitive data visuals and user interface elements on Power BI reports to provide insightful data stories to field representatives, management, and executives
• Share reports and dashboards across multiple teams and maintain user access policies using Power BI Apps and Azure security groups
• Establish subject matter expertise and strongly influence our data visualization strategy
• Collaborate with other WPP data visualization professionals to share best practices & techniques
• Build POCs to explore new features, tools & technologies
• Drive user adoption of data visualization applications

What it takes?

• 3+ years of BI and data visualization experience
• At least 2+ years of experience in the Power BI platform specifically
• Experience with Microsoft Power BI service and apps is a plus
• Strong data visualization and DAX function skills
• Background in data architecture or development
• Advertising agency and/or automotive marketing experience a plus
• Exceptional planning, coordination, management, and communication skills
• Enjoys creating new ways of working that scale, without being overly process- heavy
• Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with a diverse group of staff
• Ability to handle pressures and deadlines
• Attention to detail
