JOB DESCRIPTION/SUMMARY

 

This position is responsible to assist with the preparation of the monthly financials.  The GL accountant will prepare journal entries, reconcile financial statements and accounts, and ensure data accuracy.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Primary responsibility is to assist with the preparation of financial statements and support schedules according to corporate timelines
  • Assist with the monthly close procedures
  • Prepare account reconciliations (cash, assets, liabilities, fixed assets) and supporting sub-ledgers
  • Research and resolve account reconciling items
  • Assist with preparation of audit sampling package for external audits
  • Prepare monthly Work in Progress calculations
  • Prepare monthly General Excise Tax calculations
  • Support other team members as necessary
  • Other projects as assigned

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university.
  • Must be highly detail oriented and organized
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Proficiency with email, Excel, Word, QuickBooks and ERP systems
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and corporate procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
