You hold a bachelor’s degree or possess equivalent experience, along with 5-7 years of professional experience in meeting and event planning or project management. Additionally, you have advanced proficiency in Dynamics 365, the Microsoft Office suite, and Outlook, along with a strong aptitude for other software systems.
 
What you will do: 
The Events Manager is responsible for managing external events as well as organizing and maintaining project plans in support of those events. Additional responsibilities include planning and managing pre-meeting and on-site logistics for live events. (Events are defined as GS1 Connect conference, Community Engagement meetings and/or other named programs of GS1 US.)   This role will also support the internal GS1 US event strategy which can include updating or establishing new best practices, processes, and implementation tools. Other responsibilities include working closely with the corporate tradeshow team to manage meetings, track budgets and develop internal schedules. The ideal candidate possesses a high level of professionalism and willingness to handle planning and administrative details of meetings and events. Exceptional attention to detail, superior communication skills (written and verbal) and strong organizational skills are a necessity. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  • Corporate tradeshow
    • Support director of events with facilitation and operations of community advisory board
    • Planning, proofing and testing of registration site, mobile app signage, online event platforms
    • Coordinate internal and external meetings
    • Gather requirements and be point of contact for ancillary meetings and GS1 US University
    • Plan and execute staff dinners
    • Develop and manage staff schedule and communications
    • Lead execution of post-conference analytics, reporting, and survey management in collaboration with GS1 US Market Insights Team, event management team, and senior director of events
  • Facilitate all aspects of meeting planning for community engagement tradeshows, events, meetings, and on-site workshops, from site selection, vendor negotiation, event registration, and post-event reporting   
  • Work directly with registrants for problems and inquiries when necessary
  • Manage meeting preparation, supplies ordering and packing/shipping of event materials for community engagement meetings, on-site workshops, and tradeshows
  • Continuously identify and implement business process improvements for events and event strategy  
  • Contract management, PO creation and payment processing for events in which you are responsible 
  • Update project timelines, track progress of projects, communicate risks or gaps as appropriate and assist in follow-up of tasks.
