Performance Associate Director, Mobile App Install (MAI)

In this influential role, you will be accountable for all day-to-day Mobile App Install (MAI) performance media operations on and be the main point of contact for a major brand in the mobile app space. The Associate Director provides strategic direction and leadership inside the digital group to ensure effective communication, deliver on client goals, and manage the career paths of supporting staff within the MAI team. This is an opportunity to impact a team from the ground up and drive meaningful results for a key client. 


  • Lead and own the day-to-day management of team workflow and oversight of performance media recommendations, execution details, budgets/accounting and KPIs. You will provide stewardship, advising on all mobile-related matters falling within the scope of our engagement. 
  • You will develop strong relationships with the mobile community, vendors, and cross-channel leads. 
  • Build and implement A/B testing strategies around creative, bids, audiences, etc. 
  • You will study and understand the client’s product, marketing objectives and digital goals for their app(s), ensuring your recommendations are insightful and consistent. 
  • Stay on top of the latest updates regarding mobile-specific tools and platforms such as Apple Search Ads, Google App Campaigns, MMPs, 3rd party campaign management & competitive analysis tools. 
  • Train, motivate & develop Managers, Senior Associates and Associates, performing as a leader with minimal supervision. A key result will be developing talent. We need you to elevate the practice by developing your own team members to be strategic about the role of mobile-focused tactics in the media mix. 
  • Develop and write up standard methodologies for improving operational efficiencies within the team and the group 
  • Assist in staff planning, resource allocation, interviewing/hiring, and team evaluation 
  • Maintain and encourage an open environment for the media partners to approach teams first with opportunities and innovations 
  • Keep management apprised of key client opportunities, potential risks and other key nuances which affect the health of the business 


  • Bachelor's degree in business, Analytics, Marketing, Communications, Advertising; OR equivalent professional work experience  
  • A minimum of 4-5 years of experience leading enterprise-level, performance MAI programs with demonstrated success implementing strategies to drive incremental revenue growth 
  • Prior experience leading a high-performance MAI team; demonstrating the ability to nurture junior members and serve as a mentor 
  • A detailed knowledge of media activation best practices for mobile specific channels such as Apple Search Ads and Google App Campaigns. 
  • Knowledge of the mobile measurement landscape such as SKAdNetwork and understanding of key differences between Android and iOS tracking capabilities and limitations 
  • Experience working with one of the major MMPs (Kochava, AppsFlyer, Branch, Adjust, etc.) and Firebase / Google Analytics. 
  • Understanding of 3rd party MAI campaign management / bid management / competitive insight tools such as Skai,, MobileAction, SEMrush, Ironsource etc.  
  • Experience with cross-market and multi-million dollar budget programs preferred 
  • Excellent client communication and relationship management skills

The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $75,000 to $180,000. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility and qualifications.
