OVERVIEW:

Gain Theory is approaching the engagement of our clients and how we deliver insights differently. In seeking to ‘inspire’ clients, we are moving beyond facts and figures into influence and driving enthusiasm to take action. You should be an individual that understands the data, analysis, tools and Marketing, but approaches delivery of results through the eyes of the client.

The role is client facing in connecting and translating the outputs of our world class analytics tools and solutions to client business problems and needs.  Consulting, partnership, excellent communications and project management will be the hallmarks of the ideal candidate beyond the prerequisite problem-solving skills and general understanding of how Marketing organizations function and use analytics to solve everyday challenges.

You should be acquainted with many of the Marketing Analytic disciplines currently employed by companies across industries and around the world including MMM, RGM, MTA, Social, CRM, media optimization, and other insight generating modeling solutions.

 

YOUR IMPACT:

Client Interaction

  • Lead client engagement and manage the overall relationship
  • Create and deliver presentations that exceed client expectations
  • Uncover business needs and identify areas of opportunity for growth
  • Organize and lead in-person client meetings and conference calls
  • Negotiate and resolve client, agency, and vendor conflicts
  • Strong interpersonal skills, natural presenter capable of storytelling through data and insights

Strategy

  • Understand clients’ evolving business goals
  • Ongoing review of client goals, strategy, and metrics of success
  • Participate in Agency or Direct client strategy success stories and challenges
  • Master knowledge of clients’ business, competition, and latest industry news and trends


Analytics

  • Develop project timelines and deliverable schedules
  • Oversee creation of Marketing Mix Models, utilizing multivariate regression analysis (basic understanding of process and requirements)
  • Understand boarder marketing analytics methodologies
  • Understand the bigger picture of analytics deliverables and client expectations
  • Have an eye for detail and quality control
  • Manage project progress, concerns about deliverables, issues, etc.
  • Use Tableau, SQL, Excel, etc. for data manipulation, analysis, and reporting
  • Produce and interpret diminishing return curves based on model results and develop multiple-scenario simulations and optimizations

Management

  • Demonstrate time management skills to ensure on-time completion of projects on accelerated schedule
  • Manage internal team and effectively foster teamwork and drive motivation
  • Resolve project conflicts
  • Participate in the development, mentoring, and retention of staff members under their management
  • Actively contribute to company initiatives, processes, and roll-outs
  • Share learnings with team and discuss potential impact on client programs
  • Collaborate with specialists and maintain strong relationships with agency and vendor partners

New Business

  • Identify new business opportunities within client base
  • Participate in the preparation and delivery of new business pitches/proposals
  • Work through sales process until close
  • Ensure that clients’ success metrics are attainable before taking on new business opportunities


YOUR QUALIFICATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 6+ years related work experience
  • Client relationship management expertise
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills including presenting and story telling a must
  • Experience in managing and mentoring team members
  • Experience in working with Marketing Mix Modeling, Multitouch Attribution, Media Optimization
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to analyze raw data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations
  • Understanding of industry research sources, such as Nielsen/IRI sales data or TV/online advertising data
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, including pivot tables and V-Lookups
  • Excellent problem-solving, quantitative and analytical skills
  • Capability to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and take initiative on assigned tasks

YOUR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Python, R, SQL, and Tableau experience is highly preferred
  • Comprehensive understanding of Statistics (Correlations, T-Stats, R2, sample sizing, etc.)

As an independent practice within the WPP Media Company, we have the resources and intellectual capital which fuels our ambition of becoming a top tier Global Marketing analytics company over the next 3 years.  Our New York office sits in World Trade 3 overlooking the World Trade Memorial.  Yet, we retain full independence to work for non-WPP clients (~40% of our client base is currently with non-WPP clients) and do not provide any unpaid services within WPP.

We serve clients across a range of sectors, including CPG, Retail, Finance, QSR, Healthcare, and more.  Our work covers 50 markets in NA, LATAM, EMEA and APAC with regional Head Offices in New York, London, and Singapore.
