Wavemaker is an agency of GroupM, the leading global media investment company and are a part of WPP. In fact, we are responsible for one in every three ads you see globally. We are currently looking for an Account Manager to join us.

 Role Overview

The manager role will be to assist in the planning, implementing and the maintenance of holistic media campaigns with the ability to assist in both the higher-level strategy as well as the implementation/execution of a media plan. Working on multiple clients, it will be imperative to have strong digital prowess, experience or interest in audience led planning and DMP applications, understand how to optimize based on results and have the ability to adapt in real time as well as traditional media planning.

The manager role is the central point of contact across multiple disciplines, agencies, and clients. You will manage direct client relationships and be the day-to-day lead for them. In addition, you will be the conduit for internal communication and oversight across the investment, customer strategy, and analytics teams.

The US team will step in to support Global requests as well. While you will not be required to develop plans for other countries, the US team does support global initiatives and is connected with the broader network for knowledge sharing and best practices.

Reporting Structure
The manager role will report to an Associate Director and manage a Senior Associate.

About You

Ultimately, we need someone who gets how media strategy works and can manage the process from start to finish. We need somebody that’s digitally fluent and able to work in a fast pace, ever changing environment as bp’s focus is on performance marketing. The right person will get how digital media fits into a broader communications framework but will be equally comfortable talking about traditional media (such as Local TV/Radio and OOH), too.

We work for a very fast-paced clientele. You’ll get involved on many fronts and will have to become the expert, the point of contact for internal and external teams.
You’ll know the detail and be able to dream big.

Your Impact

  • Assist in the planning, implementing and the maintenance of holistic media campaigns with the ability to assist in both the higher-level strategy as well as the implementation/execution of a media plan.
  • Manage direct client relationships as well as train and manage a senior associate in all media planning functions.
  • Manage day to day client requests autonomously.
  • Active collaboration with various departments and media buyers within Wavemaker and across the GroupM network.
  • Develop and maintain the strategic media plan as well as present media strategy recommendations directly to client leads.
  • Work with Wavemakers leads to represent media goals/strategy.
  • Represent media strategy within internal client meetings.
  • Making and maintaining strong working relationships with media vendors for smooth planning, execution, and implementation.
  • Gain proficiency in MS Office applications and appropriate research tools.
  • Working with the Associate Director, as well as implementation groups, develops budget allocations across media, media mix scenarios.
  • Provide day-to-day direction to implementation groups for the strategic media plan.
  • Maintain and communicate up-to-date records of the implementation of the plan.
  • Provide research and analysis to manage various issues that arise in the execution

Your Qualifications

  • Minimum 4-6 years’ experience working within strategy/planning, preferably within a media agency setting.
  • BA/BS Degree or 5 + years in related field.
  • Previous experience working across all media channels (digital and traditional).
  • Previous experience working with tools including MediaOcean, Prisma is preferred, competitive tools, audience planning tools.
  • Experience using most of the following media planning tools: TNS, Scarborough, Media Monitors, Nielsen, Arbitron, Tactician, Strata and Simmons
  • Previous experience working in a data-driven environment or on performance marketing client is a plus.
  • Able to work autonomously.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Excellent analytical, written, verbal and numerical skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, multi-tasking capabilities, and detail-oriented nature.
