OVERVIEW:
The Associate Director – Direct Investment is responsible for helping to lead and mange media planning, strategy and investment/buying activities associated with one or more assigned accounts. The AD – Direct Investment provides leadership, strategic direction, and input for spending across major sites and publishers while monitoring client budgets and adherence to KPI’s. You will lead by example while developing, motivating, and coaching a team comprised of Manager, Senior Associates, and/or Associates. You will participate in the recruitment and selection of junior staff and will ensure all direct reports master the skills and organizational savvy required for advancement.

YOUR IMPACT:
• Help lead, create, and manage all media planning and investment strategies and activities on a B2B technology account across all digital touch points: video, display, mobile, lead generation tactics (content syndication, webinar, etc), podcast, email, programmatic direct as well as integrated deals and other non-digital direct activity
• Enforce key investment tenets around objective / KPI's / substitutability /compliance
• Continuously provide digital media insights and optimizations
• Help build buying approach (spend, buying model, KPIs, optimization models)
• Ensure all investment is aligned with client operational standards (partners, viewability and brand safety)
• Oversee tactical buying process
• Supervise the RFP process (approve all partners)
• Oversee and approve vendor RFP selection, scoring model, partner selection and allocations
• Advise Managers and Senior Associates with budget allocation by partners
• Lead Key Initiatives
• Collaborate with negotiation team for Savings and Audits
• Work with negotiation team to ensure preferred partners are prioritized
• Oversee budget and billing management
• Review and approve buy allocations/details
• Manage and direct the requests/projects for the group
• Handle issue resolution, recommend process improvements, and oversee client budget
• Maintain strong media and technology vendor relationships and act as a resource for industry data and trends, first looks, innovations, etc.
• Provide ongoing vendor knowledge sharing – marketplace conditions, trends, first looks, innovations, best practices, etc.
• Follow up in real time on client team requests, key awareness of client deadlines
• Create POVs
• Other responsibilities as assigned

YOUR KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
• Solid understanding of online metrics and strong negotiating skills
• Working knowledge of interactive research tools such as ComScore, Prisma, Lumina (nice-to-have), etc.
• Able to work successfully with teams, handling multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines under pressure
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Experience with B2B technology accounts is preferred but not required
• Strong analytical abilities and quantitative skills, including math proficiency
• Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills
• Technical proficiency, particularly with media systems and MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
• BA/BS degree required
• Minimum of 6+ plus years previous digital planning experience
