 About the role

The NBCU Peacock Junior Communications Strategist must be a curious, resourceful  and creative thinker that can help the teams uncover rich consumer, cultural and competitive insights. We’re looking for someone to demonstrate strategic potential by being aggressively connected to culture, armed with curious questions, and annoyingly prepared for anything thrown your way.

You will help the team be experts in Entertainment and pop culture, working to crack what people watch and why, and understand how some of our biggest competitors are bringing their programs to market.

The most successful Peacock Junior Communications Strategists are creative, fun  students of culture. They are go-getters and hand raisers. They’re always looking to what’s next and assisting the team to reach big, ambitious goals.

You are someone that can efficiently and effectively mine both qualitative and quantitative data, see interesting and unexpected connections, and assist in translating those to marketing, and media, tactics.

You will be responsible for supporting the communications planning teams in understanding and developing  innovative, creative, and effective client strategies and go-to-market ideas.

Primary Responsibilities

RESEARCH

You’re an ace detective – looking where others wouldn’t and seeing connections that can crack the case. You will help the team understand and articulate primary and secondary research across the category, culture, and our consumer.

This includes…

        Becoming a master of our tools – you know how everything works and are always pushing us to new places

        Bringing a target audience to life in a human, nuanced way using multiple data  sources

        Organizing findings in a compelling story

        Defending your findings with rationale and rigor

        Keeping a constant pulse on our category, looking to understand what’s doing well and why

INSIGHTS

Once you have compiled the facts, you will help the team frame your findings to inspire a wide range of stakeholders. You will work to translate your research into actionable insights that provoke and inspire.

This includes…

        Uncovering insights that are unconventional, that go beyond the first page of Google search results

        Seeing the actionable strategic implications behind insights

        Writing in a compelling, unignorable fashion

TEAM SUPPORT

A crucial element of this role is keeping the train on the tracks and assisting the team across a variety of initiatives. From being the record-keeper of conversations to reader of scripts and development materials, you will help the team stay focused and prepared for whatever comes our way.

        Being the day to day strategic point of contact across Peacock Strategy initiatives

        Jumping in to help others as needed – you’re a true team player

        Participating in brainstorms, challenging us with new and unexpected ideas and positions

GROWTH AREAS

Demonstrates potential and interest in the following areas: consumer behavior, consumer  trends, creative media engagements, media innovation, marketing effectiveness, and/or measurement/analytics

 

 

Requirements:

        Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising, Marketing, Business Administration, or Communications; or equivalent professional work experience

        Recent college graduate or have 1+ years of relevant work experience in a variety of disciplines including Media Planning, Communications Planning, Strategic Planning, 360 Planning, Channel Planning, Account or Brand Planning with a nominal  media understanding.

        Strong interest in what moves pop culture

        Ability to identify strategy and develop ideas across all channels

        Understanding of current, key marketing trends and their impact on communications planning

        Analytical skills – both qualitative and quantitative

        Understanding of research techniques, and processes

        Resourcefulness: deadline management, prioritization, ability to ask questions and master requests

        Burgeoning client relationship and leadership skills

        Strong verbal and written communication skills

        Ability to work in very fast-paced, deadline-driven team environment

The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $45,000 to $90,000. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility and qualifications.
