Senior Associate, Accounting & Finance

Overview:

In this role you will assist the Manager in the day-to-day accounting and quarterly forecasting for a business unit, within the Corporate Accounting & Finance team of GroupM.

Your Impact:

  • Participate in the monthly close of a business unit, including the accurate preparation of the balance sheet, income statement and trial balance
  • Prepare and/or review monthly analysis and reconciliations of key financial accounts on a timely basis
  • Compile and analyze business unit budgets and forecast through collaboration with commercial, people and other teams across the organization
  • Prepare and/or review monthly journal entries (standards, accruals)
  • Identify and investigate fluctuations in financial information (actual vs budget/forecasts; budget/forecasts vs targets), working with business unit personnel as needed
  • Work closely with intercompany partners on intercompany reconciliations
  • Research unusual transactions, bring inconsistencies and problems to the attention of the team leader and management as required
  • Submit financial information to parent company via consolidation software (SAP / BFC (Cartesis)
  • Prepare supporting documentation for both external and internal annual audits of respective business unit
  • Maintain compliance with section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act by following predefined procedures

Other Responsibilities:

  • Special projects as requested by the business unit leadership, Controller, Regional headquarters or our parent company
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis

Your Qualifications:

  • BS in Accounting, CPA certification preferred but not required
  • 2+ years of public or 3+ years of private accounting experience
  • Strong technical and analtical skills
  • Detail oriented with the ability to investigate and resolve problems
  • Good planning and communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a high performing team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and across departmental functions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Workday, Microsoft AX, Perceptive, SAP (BFC /Cartesis), Donovan Data Systems / Mediaocean a plus

The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $45,000 to $90,000. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility and qualifications.
