Position at Motion Content Group



Director works with the senior executive team at Motion Content Group on the strategy and implementational of financing, producing, and distributing premium content.


Director will contribute to Motion’s business development by crafting and servicing commercial partnerships with media networks, streaming platforms, studios, production companies, and other related entertainment and tech entities. You will interact with Motion offices around the world to gain insight and understanding of innovative deal models. You will also liaise with sister WPP companies to ensure Motion delivers clear value to agencies and clients. The role reports to the head of Motion US.




  • Contribute to Motion’s success with innovative deals that maximize revenue opportunities with media partners, brands, and other related companies
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions related to the strategy and expansion of Motion services
  • Collaborate with Motion colleagues around the world in various depts/disciplines: business operations, programming, distribution, legal and business affairs
  • Organize and log US content deals from initial ideas to deal execution, developing and maintaining company worksheets and databases
  • Create reports and revenue trackers, updating on a regular basis
  • Collaborate with Finance on all deal propositions
  • Manage contracts with GroupM legal, Motion legal, and outside firms
  • Drive deals through the approval process, providing deal narrative, evidence of due diligence around value, risk, and financial projections
  • Monitor deal milestones, assuring the company adheres to all deadlines and requirements
  • Coordinate partner and vendor relationships with Finance & People (HR)
  • Manage special projects and independent consultants
  • Create presentations and pitch materials for new and existing initiatives
  • Contribute to marketing materials, helping to tell the Motion business story
  • Compile research and create custom reports, including industry trends
  • Unlock new revenue streams for our existing IP
  • Build innovative partnerships
  • Assist senior executives in evaluating tech and content start-ups for potential partnership and/or investment




  • Minimum 2 years of experience within the entertainment/content industry
  • Excitement for entertainment, pop culture and digital culture
  • Strong understanding of current industry landscape (including news, trends, key players, platforms, content, etc)
  • Direct experience in one of the following areas preferred: strategic planning, business affairs, business development, programming development, production, distribution, content acquisitions, talent representation, packaging, media agency, tv network, social media platform
  • Solid industry relationships
