Associate Director – Data Strategy 

Mediacom is seeking an Associate Director of Audience Planning to join its Data Strategy and Technology team on the Mars account.  This team is comprised of experts in integrated communications, digital media buying, data and technology platforms, and advanced analytics. We use internal and external platforms, and hundreds of data sources to help advertisers connect with their customers across all media with the right message, at the right time, to drive a reaction. Our internal integrated marketing technology suite, [m]Platform, empowers Mars to leverage the industry’s most robust collection of consumer and media intelligence for smarter planning, activation, and media measurement. 

We are looking for individuals passionate about driving innovations in data-driven media and marketing, who enjoy spending time exploring new ideas and driven by providing client-centric solutions. You will be part of a highly specialized group that is working to continue to drive the transformation of traditional media planning to audience-based cross channel media planning and execution. The ideal candidate for this role prefers focusing on the big picture, using deliberate, methodological approaches to problem solving and constantly looking for new ways to propel better business performance. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion audience-first thinking within media planning and strategy teams; providing a consultative approach to driving business outcomes using data and technology platforms.
  • Utilize DMP, Site Analytics, DCO, DSP, and MTA technologies to drive audience-based planning, buying, targeting, measurement, and optimization.
  • Build a cohesive 360 view of the customer profile using 1stparty, 2nd party, 3rd party, and research data inclusive of online and offline data sources
  • Develop strategic audience segmentation to drive omnichannel personalization
  • Build audience targeting strategies based on campaign goals, run audience insight analysis, collaborate with data partners to create custom audiences, and establish a connection with media partners to configure, test, and validate destination across all channels.
  • Supervise the end-to-end process of audience planning, activation, and measurement for clients and/or campaigns
  • Analyze performance by audience segment & provide audience optimization recommendations
  • Develop deep expertise in the data ecosystem including 3rd party data providers, publisher and supply direct relationships, and WPP companies
  • Drive adoption and success of US data and technology platform partnerships as well as ensure that global team understands US market needs and priorities

Desirable Experience:

  • 4 + year’s experience in quantitative consulting, analytics, or solutions delivery roles
  • Familiar with media planning and activation process
  • Solid understanding of mar-tech and ad-tech landscape;, Hands-on experience with multiple platforms such as LiveRamp, Krux, Adobe Audience Manager, Oracle BlueKai, Neustar Aggregate Knowledge, DataXu, DoubleClick, The Trade Desk, AppNexus or other agency proprietary platforms.
  • Excellent presentation skills to communicate overall strategy, analysis plan and execution
  • Collaborative approach and relationship building skills
  • Degrees in Business, Math, Science, MIS, or Computer Science preferred
