The Social Media Specialist manager is a creative communicator. They are well versed in social media (specifically Twitter and LinkedIn) and corporate social account management but also a creative individual with design and production skills to support our team with the creation of graphic assets.Working with the full Marketing and Communications team, you will own the social promotion, amplification, and support of a calendar of events and activity and content.  

This is a newly created role for North America as our social accounts have sat with the Global communications team to date. As our regional owner, you’ll be working in partnership with the global team to ensure our calendars and priorities align and serve the greater mission. 

As our Social Media Specialist, you will:  

  • Search for opportunities to grow our social graph and impact  
  • Create systems to streamline the process of creating social content 
  • Integrate into our yourself into our organizational activities  
  • Inspire excitement and engagement about our social presence within our community/people 
  • Enjoy frequently interacting with new people 


  • Managing GroupM social presence and posting for NA (predominantly Twitter & LinkedIn)  
  • Social listening and monitoring to identify engagement opportunities and refine the approach and define best practices. 
  • Actively engaging with regional personalities and content on social platforms  
  • Managing the deployment of content across NA executive profiles 
  • Supporting the People team in the activation of a recruitment-focused editorial/content strategy on LI).  
  • Creating visual assets to accompany social posts 
  • Managing real-time posting during milestones and industry events  
  • Other design and graphic support projects as needed. 


  • This role will have visibility into the most exciting and innovative activities across the business  
  • High level of interaction with agency executive leaders and subject matter experts as well as high exposure to every level within the organization  


3 Months: 

  • Performed audit of the competitive social landscape 
  • Performed audit of leadership social profiles & associated recommendations  
  • Designed a target influence map identifying key categories/profiles/audiences 
  • Built relationships with Twitter and LinkedIn to explore how to maximize the platform for our goals 
  • Connect with the people team to identify how our social strategy can serve our employer brand   
  • Develop draft regional calendar of social activity   

6 Months: 

  • Implement a regional social content calendar  
  • Participate in editorial strategy conversations and provide social insight from our account view and listening  
  • Establish yourself as a proxy for the GroupM social in region  
  • Measurable improvements in the effectiveness of our social posts and audience size 


  • Minimum of  years of related work experience  
  • Experience in social media management and PR  
  • Creative and graphic design abilities  
  • The ideal candidate is well versed in the Adobe Creative suite, MS Word and PPT, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Hootsuite or other social media account management platforms
  • Ability to think strategically to solve problems 
  • Affinity with the idea of making advertising work better for people
