The Assistant Negotiator is an entry level National Broadcast buying position. This role works as part of a team in assisting the National Broadcast Negotiators on the negotiation, placement, and maintenance of television commercial buys. Primary responsibilities are to learn media math, form vendor relationships, and utilize various computer and system applications. The position requires development of negotiation skills, understanding client needs and the corporate trade business model.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Learn media terminology definitions
    • Form relationships with vendors through the maintenance of client schedules
    • Handle day to day client scheduling requests
  • Review and resolve billing discrepancies with vendors and finance
    • Monitor program content screenings, do not air lists, time locks and day restrictions
    • Develop quarterly post buy analysis
  • Assist in creating client presentations

Job Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing, Business Administration, or Communications preferred but not required
  • No media buying experience required but internships are preferred Excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Strong math and analytical skills
  • Team-oriented and detail-oriented Organization and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong work ethic and ability to perform under pressure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
