Position at Mindshare

A minimum of 12 years of experience preferred;

In this role, you are primarily responsible for managing all senior client relationships on a major account.  You will also oversee the profitability of the account and ensure the integration and process flow throughout Strategic Planning, Investment, and Analytics functions. 

You lead the media network servicing the client, and are responsible for consistency of product and output delivered.  You should have a strong understanding of business planning and data analytics. You will drive an agenda of best practices sharing, innovation, and strategic thinking, via a clearly defined operating model, framework of thinking, and toolkit. 

In partnership with the media client(s), you will set this agenda and optimize it regularly based on business dynamics. Given the digital centricity of the account, you should have a strong background in digital media strategy and trading.


This position is also accountable for continuing the evolution of Agency of the Future model based on Digital and Data transformation and shift toward Outcome based planning, including putting the consumer insight and data defined audiences at the front of the strategy,  ability to deliver on big ideas and partnerships, to create deeper engagement with key consumer segments like (but not limited to) Polycultural America and the Cash Strapped consumer, ability to balance long term brand purpose with short term business goals via planning across the full funnel,  integration across divisional siloes at GroupM, acceleration and agility of evolved deliverables and  adaptive marketing.

This means incorporating Planning for Agility
into regular planning cycle, hacking the planning calendar to deliver faster ways to market, dynamic resource allocation via monthly budget re-allocations, creating new models to respond more rapidly to consumer signals in real time and continuing growth in data and analytics services, data democratization and leading the dialogue about campaign performance in an Outcome based (ideal) world.


The ideal candidate will have deep experience in CPG and solid experience developing creative innovation and fresh partnership activations that tap new opportunities in the marketplace to bring the brand story to life in more engaging ways. They will have experience leading a large (25+ FTEs) team with multiple simultaneous campaigns (30+) and inspiring fresh thinking alongside rigorous best practice.  They will have the fortitude and aptitude to integrate Global initiatives and ways of working cascades to adapt to local market realities often creating the bridge between global and local needs and requirements.


You will play a key role in identifying new business or growth opportunities with the client.  


You will also work closely with planning and investment counterparts to extract more value (both hard savings and other benefits) from the marketplace for clients. 



  • Develops and maintains senior client relationships
  • Establishes overall strategic media approach on business and the implementation process to be employed, considering nuances and limitations of global markets engaged on the client business
  • Directly responsible for overall media planning product
  • Monitors, evaluates, recruits and recommends media personnel on the assignment
  • Attends, presents and provides counsel at all significant agency-client media meetings
  • Provides leadership when necessary in developing, negotiating and implementing creative media solutions
  • Confer with outside creative advertising agencies and marketing teams to establish media goals, objectives and strategies
  • Continue to drive consistent process and approach to marketplace dealings and cascade to teams
  • Participating in regular Mindshare and GroupM client leadership meetings.



  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Group Director
  • Broad background , exposure to and experience in the entire research, planning and implementation process
  • Strong problem solving skills, authority in cross-agency cross-cultural situations
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented with exceptional critical thinking and problem solving abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to multi-task, work successfully with teams, and work under pressure
