Role Overview:
The Client President, Mexico Market, is a senior leadership role responsible for driving client satisfaction, retention, and growth across GroupM Mexico. This individual will serve as the primary advocate for client needs and perspectives, ensuring they are central to the development of strategy, products, and services. Reporting directly to the CEO, GroupM Mexico, the Client President will lead a team of Client Service Directors and play a critical role in shaping the overall direction of GroupM Mexico. This role requires a transformational leader with a proven track record of building and nurturing senior-level client relationships, driving commercial success, fostering a high-performance team, and navigating complex organizational structures. In some cases, this role will have a matrix reporting relationship to regional Client Presidents, depending on the specific client portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Advocacy & Strategy:
- Champion client needs and perspectives within GroupM Mexico, ensuring they are central to all strategic decisions.
- Partner with regional Client Presidents (where applicable) to ensure consistent, best-in-class client servicing across the organization, leveraging their expertise and insights.
- Serve as the ultimate escalation point for client issues, ensuring swift and effective resolution.
- Contribute to the development and execution of GroupM Mexico's overall strategy, aligning it with client objectives and market opportunities.
- Represent the client perspective on the Mexico leadership team, influencing key decisions and initiatives.
- Commercial Leadership & Growth:
- Identify and capitalize on market opportunities to drive revenue growth and profitability.
- Leverage GroupM's full suite of capabilities, including data, tech, performance, eCommerce, and innovation, to deliver cutting-edge solutions for clients.
- Lead and support new business development efforts, including pitches and presentations, to win new clients and expand existing relationships.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase client investment in GroupM's services, focusing on diversified revenue streams.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, profitable work that exceeds client expectations.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Cultivate and maintain strong, trusted relationships with key client stakeholders at the most senior levels.
- Proactively identify client needs and challenges and develop innovative solutions to address them.
- Regularly evaluate GroupM's service delivery and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Ensure first-class service is maintained on all accounts, resulting in industry-leading client satisfaction feedback, retention, and growth.
- Leverage relationships within the network and utilize practice and offer frameworks to identify targeted organic growth opportunities.
- New Business Development:
- Drive active prospecting and leverage market contacts and insights to fuel the growth agenda for GroupM Mexico.
- Identify and harvest new business opportunities through supporting new business pitches and presentations.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead and manage a team of Client Service Directors, providing guidance, mentorship, and development opportunities.
- Champion the people agenda, establishing GroupM Mexico as a "best place to work" for client service professionals.
- Foster a culture that empowers employees to flourish and sets the benchmark in hiring and developing the best talent for future-ready capabilities.
- Drive a culture of learning agility, encouraging others to grow and develop a growth mindset, valuing individuals for the uniqueness they bring to the table.
- Matrix Reporting & Collaboration:
- In certain client portfolio scenarios, maintain a matrix reporting relationship to regional Client Presidents, collaborating on strategy, service delivery, and client relationship management.
- Ensure clear communication and alignment with regional Client Presidents on shared client accounts.
- Contribute to the development of best practices and knowledge sharing across the regional client service organization.
Qualifications:
- A transformational leader with extensive experience driving the marketing and commercial agenda in a large and sophisticated communications environment.
- Successful track record of winning and accelerating the development of client relationships at a senior level, with direct involvement in managing these relationships.
- Personally driven; effective at building and developing talent by generating excitement and enthusiasm.
- Financial and forecasting acumen.
- Experience uncovering client needs and marrying these needs with internal capabilities resulting in incremental impact.
- A thought leader with prior experience in raising the profile of an organization through participating in and attending networking and industry events.
- Proficient and articulate in driving and creating diversified new revenue streams with data, tech, performance, eCommerce, and Innovation.
- Experience working in a matrixed organization.
- Proven ability to motivate, lead, and energize both direct reports and peers.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to drive new ideas and ways of thinking.
- Demonstrated resilience and perseverance when faced with a challenge; shows optimism for the future and what is possible.

- Proven track record in delivering excellence to clients.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- 15 + years of experience in a senior client leadership role within the media or advertising industry.
- Deep understanding of the Mexican market and its unique challenges and opportunities.
- Fluency in Spanish and English is required.
- Strong network of contacts within the Mexican media and advertising industry.
