Qatar is largely a blank canvas for travel audiences, suffering from lack of awareness, perception, or distinctive brand association. Qatar operates in an increasingly competitive environment, with regional neighbours stepping up investment in tourism, infrastructure, and communications

The launch of their brand campaign in 2021 began the journey to truly put Qatar on the tourism MAP and there is a huge opportunity to build momentum and heighten the attention gained and boldly position Qatar as the preferred destination for both point to point and stop-overs

Qatar are a fast-paced client who are looking for passionate and dynamic talent to join their team. The Global clients are based in Doha. MS work closely with the client team and AMVBBDO who are the creative agency to develop integrated strategy and campaigns. Qatar are at an inflection point and looking for MS to help them on their journey to accelerate growth

The Role

The Business Director role is a senior role that required to develop best in class global/regional digital marketing and media solutions for your client. You must be digitally ahead, connected, diplomatic, pro-active, and solution oriented.

The successful BDs role will be 30% Global and 70% EU. The EU aspect of the role will be to lead the EU Hub which will deliver digital planning and activation. The BD will drive digital planning and activation workstreams and best practice.

The successful Planning BD will be someone that is solution orientated, proactive, able to work autonomously and able to collaborate with clients X-agency partners and MS team. Experienced in unpacking client briefs and challenging them in a constructive way. They will take pride in their work and always strive to elevate the quality of what they do and position MS as experts in digital thinking, planning and business solutions

The global 30% is focus on the need to ‘raise the floor and the celling’ in terms of digital planning rigour and excellence. They will be required to guide and consult local teams that require planning support

As Qatar are relatively ‘young’ in the media and marketing space, this role would be a great opportunity for the right candidate to make their mark and support the Global Mindshare teams’ ambition to accelerate digital strategy & planning, creative & media integration to drive business outcomes

The BD role will report into Global Digital Lead

 Responsibilities


  • Cross Channel Planning Lead for EU markets
  • Day to day senior contact point for cross channel planning [Search, Social, Programmatic]
  • Responsible for data and best practice led cross channel planning & digital direction
  • Works closely with all channel activation teams [Search, Social, Programmatic], being connection point for the client in regard to EU planning and workstreams
  • Digital road map  development and advancement of planning initiatives and converting brief into best-in-class strategies
  • Delivery of the digital trading model, results and end of campaign analysis.
  • Works seamlessly with EU Hub Activation Business Director to drive flawless activation
  • Build the cross-channel approach for campaigns and briefs tailored at market tier level  
  • Build & establish strong relationships with the client, partners as well as internally, across the worldwide specialist teams and the local mindshare.
  • Understand the client’s business and the digital landscape to deliver insight led communications advice, strategies, and high-level plans to clients
  • Make continuous strategic and activation recommendations based on media owner’s opportunities and innovations and work with the various specialists and/or local teams to ensure effective implementation.
  • Connect with account teams and market leads to ensure cross-team integration and WoW consistency.
  • Leads development of EU PCAs

 

 

Key Skills and Experience

  • Digital all-rounder with proven experience and strong understanding of multiple digital media channels (online display, social, paid search, SEO, programmatic, etc.) as well as a passionate following of new/emerging channels & technologies
     
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, being able to confidently and clearly present work to clients, media owners and internal stakeholders. Experience & gravitas to ‘fly solo’ & present to mid to senior weight clients.
     
  • Hands on knowledge tools such as TGI & Google Analytics, search trends, ad servers (e.g., DoubleClick), social analytics (e.g., Crimson Hexagon), data visualisation & analysis tools.
     
  • High level numeracy and analysis skills, to be able to interrogate data and coming out with actionable insights to inform business decisions.
     
  • Ability to thrive and work independently in an incredibly fast-paced, dynamic environment.
     
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills: ability to quickly and creatively solve issues (both technical and operational)
     
  • Ability to communicate process driven approaches clearly and effectively to non-technical individuals
     
  • Track record delivering high quality results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment 
     
  • Experience and knowledge of the difference stages of the project management life cycle.
