Mindshare Outcomes is our new integrated outcome-based unit that delivers across addressable media for both Mindshare and Neo clients leveraging all GroupM and WPP capabilities. Outcomes focuses on design and activation for addressable media such as programmatic, search, social, performance analytics, SEO & affiliates.

Job purpose:

 

The Partner, Outcomes, Paid Social will hold a key role in the development and ongoing management of Mindshare’s new Outcomes proposition. As Partner Paid Social, they will have direct responsibility for the output of the Paid Social team across Mindshare UK, WW and Neo. They will initially be responsible for bring together the Mindshare and Neo teams, and create a single Outcomes Paid Social solution which encompasses all the great elements already in existence across the 2 businesses and evolve it into a single market leading Outcomes Paid Social offering.

In addition to the creation of a market leading UK and WW Outcomes focused Paid Social Solution, they will also be responsible for the consistent development and support of the EMEA region. The London office will become a support mechanism for the Outcomes teams within the EMEA region. Supporting with best practices, guidelines, certifications, accreditations, Excellence dashboard, creation and sharing of opinion pieces, being part of and sometimes chairing EMEA wide leaderships groups and councils, development of training material etc.

 

Reporting Structure:

The Partner, Outcomes, Paid Social will also hold a seat on the newly created London Outcomes Leadership Council and will report directly to the Managing Partner Outcomes WW, and you will work very closely with the Managing Partner Design UK and the Partner of Operations.

 

Key skills & knowledge: 

As a leader within Outcomes, The Partner, Outcomes, Paid Social will have a proven track record in managing, leading and inspiring a large team of channel specialist. They will be expected to be able to demonstrate their Paid Social channel expertise to help drive our Paid Social solution forward whilst also being comfortable with managing all elements of a soft P&L. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to comfortably discuss the impact and role other channels have on Paid Social and possess the ability cross-sell and up-sell other digital channels to help grow our clients business.

We’re looking for an exceptional communicator who can act as the point person for Paid Social across the London business as well as being able to work across multiple markets to drive consistency.

 

Principal responsibilities:

 

Developing our product

 

  • Overall responsibility for the Paid Social capability within the London office and development of capabilities in the EMEA region
  • How Paid Social integrates with other channels and development of Best Practice Guidelines
  • Play a key role in the development of the Outcomes Design and Deliver (Planning & Buying) framework to build a holistic approach to Outcomes and how Paid Social will operate in the new environment.
  • Responsible for the Integration of key disciplines/markets into the strategic development as well as the planning process ensuring that all key recommendations integrate insights to deliver against client’s business outcomes.
  • Establish and nurture a relationship with all key partners (Facebook/IG, Twitter, Snap, Linkedin, etc.) and in collaboration with the other Partners, develop annual JBPs and a QBR process for Mindshare Outcomes.
  • Create a consistent, challenging, but exciting recruitment experience for candidates that allows us to find and secure the best talent in the market
  • Support Global and EMEA team in the development and implementation of Outcomes and take a leading role in the Paid Social elements across Design and Deliver for both Mindshare and Neo.
  • Overall responsibility for Paid Social New Business, including but not restricted to supporting pitches, building creds, launching new products and services, upselling/cross-selling, prospecting etc.

 

Raising our profile

 

  • Surface and share great work from the team and ensuring that case studies of great work are regularly created.
  • Proactive contribution to relevant industry awards
  • Regular development of opinion pieces related to Paid Social to be shared across EMEA, build external and internal profile and act as a thought leader in the Paid Social space.
  • Contribute to key industry events and represent Mindshare and Neo externally.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Clients, Client Leads, as well as offering strategic guidance to help grow the business and strengthen the relationship
  • Work with HR/Finance, and other business leads to ensure the Outcomes story is positioned correctly with recruiters
  • Develop the profile of Mindshare Outcomes through training, presentations and other communication
  • Support Senior leadership and line manager with regular updates on up and coming innovation, changes to industry landscape
  • Active participation in social sharing and liking, comments, resharing of company and key Outcomes personnel posts to help raise profile of Outcomes

  • Ensure there is a consistent and welcoming onboarding experience for all new starters
  • Support the Managing Partner Outcomes WW to create a vision for the team and communicate the initiatives that will help us achieve it
  • Regularly update the team on live initiatives, business performance, new business opportunities and any other relevant topics
  • Ensure all team members have SMART objectives and development plans, tailored to their needs
  • Work with our HR team to develop training plans to plug any skill gaps around the team
  • Work with the Managing Partner Outcomes WW and the Partner of Operations to create development and succession plans for the team when required.

Driving our process

  • Develop and maintain on-boarding process for new starters
  • Identify and drive the implementation of the right technology to remove silos and streamline communication.
  • Work with your line manager, HR and Finance teams to develop and maintain a clear, simple finance process that eradicates errors.
  • Constantly review all optimization, budget management and other processes to identify opportunities for improvement in effectiveness or efficiency
  • Overall responsibility for Defining, Designing and Delivery of all Paid Social processes, way of working etc. Including improving and scaling what’s already in existence, creating new ways of working and eradication of old ineffective and inefficient ways of working and where possible the inclusion/development of automation to help us operate more effectively.
  • Development of Paid Social budget management and forecasting processes to help eliminate areas like overspends and underdeliver

 

Ensuring our profitability

  • Overall responsibility for the Paid Social London (UK and Neo) soft P&L. Build, own and operate the Paid Social P&L and provide regular Monthly updates to the Managing Partner Outcomes.
  • Act as the single point of contact for all finance related requests and delegate where appropriate including; providing the finance team with regular updates on client finances, people costs etc. for the entire Paid Social offering. Please note you will need to work with different finance communities e.g. UK, WW
  • In collaboration with relevant stakeholders, identify opportunities for negotiation with clients/client leads where additional funding is required for resource, or SLA/SOWs need to be reviewed/amended.
  • Work with Heads of/ Business Director/Account Director(s) to ensure client resource allocations are adhered to, or flagged to the line manager if/when scope negotiations are required
  • Support and deliver new business pitches and drive new revenue streams agenda.
  • Commercially driven and forward thinking in the expansion of business opportunities, entrepreneurial in mind-set and always looking to develop incremental or new services both centrally and locally
  • Competent and confident with managing media finance and agency revenue reporting

Delivering client performance

 

  • In partnership with Client Teams, Partners, Business and Account Director(s), lead the Paid Social conversation for clients.
  • Ensure the team is creating and updating account roadmaps for every client, covering testing, innovation, growth and other elements associated with Outcomes.
  • Ensure reporting is focused on actionable insights and look for ways to automate and drive value.
  • Deliver a consistent, best-in-class approach to Paid Social, rooted in the Mindshare Outcomes Best Practice Framework and raise any barriers to this to the Managing Partner Outcomes WW.

Personal performance measures: 

The Partner Paid Social will predominantly be measured on the output of others – the primary objective is to create an environment where others will be inspired and motivated to deliver world-class work for our clients and continue to develop in their career.  Specific measures include:

 

  • Motivated teams - measured via 360 and informal feedback.
  • Reduced staff turnover and deliver against talent annual retention rate.
  • Client satisfaction via formal and constructive feedback and Customer Scores.
  • Strong relationships with other departments via 360 and informal feedback.
  • Regular involvement in New Business, internal projects and new revenue streams such as added-value services and growth solutions.
  • Demonstrating skills and behaviours as outlined above, leading by example.
  • Year on Year Paid Social revenue growth
  • Increase client profitability through commercially focused plans, automation, and innovations.
  • Drive Profitable revenue growth agreed annually.
  • Increase in revenue contribution from out of scope services and cross-selling
  • Quality of work delivered by you and your team and Performance against client objectives
  • Active contribution to the wider Mindshare Outcomes initiatives in London and in the EMEA region.

Key requirements:

  • Substantial demonstratable success in managing and leading large teams.
  • Successfully worked in a senior role in the digital media space for a significant duration (BD, “Head of” level)
  • Proven success in stakeholder management and ability to build relationships with clients and partners.
  • Experience in leading new business pitches and driving organic growth.
  • Proven commercial success of driving business growth and creating new revenue streams.
  • Proven track record in performance media and e-commerce and good understanding of the wider media mix.
  • Strong technology understanding (AdTech and MarTech) as well as attribution models, cross-channel planning and buying, etc
  • Leadership role in performance marketing is a must
