Job purpose:

The Trading team at Mindshare Worldwide is growing and as such we are looking to recruit a Trading Account Manager to support the team.

The Exchange fulfills two purposes;

Value Management: driving cost and quality delivery for our global clients, across 40+ markets

Direct Investment:managing media space and time booked from Mindshare Worldwide

In this role, you will be required to work across the value management function:

Value Management:help collect and collate a variety of spend and cost tracking reports, analyse data to understand key trends and to co-ordinate with global markets daily to ensure they are delivering the data that we need. The role will cover a range of clients, markets and focus on both offline and online media

Reporting structure:

The role will report directly to the Snr Account Manager and Account Director

Principal responsibilities:

The role will be varied, depending on client need, but key responsibilities will include the following:

  • Day-to-day cost tracking:
  • Responsibility for tracking in all paid media channels, across a range of local markets in EMEA, APAC and the Americas
  • This will involve: working with the agreed reporting methodology, helping local markets to understand and work with the methodology, working closely with local teams to ensure monitoring in an accurate and timely manner, rolling up results on a regional and global basis and working with the Account Director / Business Director to collate/ write up results and insights for presentation to senior clients
     
  • Monitoring vs. targets:
  • Working with local Mindshare teams (and occasionally other GroupM agencies) to monitor delivery vs. set targets (KPIs/ PRIP schemes/ campaign objectives)
  • This will also involve writing/ summarizing performance results for the Business Director to present to the global Procurement/ Marketing teams within the client organization, within agreed timelines
     
  • Pan-regional/ cross-market trading:
    • Liaising with account teams internally to ensure the Investment team has full sight of current and future briefs and likely spend volumes/ patterns
       
  • Inflation and spend tracking:
    • Monitoring trends across international markets, keeping abreast of key market changes and working with local teams to understand any resultant planning/ trading implications
       
  • Pitch support:
    • Supporting the wider trading team with regards to the trading element of new business opportunities

Key Competencies
 

  • Numeracy:
    • A solid level of numeracy (percentages, indices, ratios etc.)
    • Confident making mental calculations in addition to working with Excel or calculators
    • Comfortable working with data & analytics and can create meaningful insight from it

 

  • Organisation and Co-ordination:
    • Most of our work involves running projects across international markets, therefore strong organization and co-ordination skills are key

 

  • Logical:
    • Ability to analyse a problem and propose a possible solution

 

  • Attention to detail:
    • You will spend a lot of time looking at data and figures – an attention to detail and ability to cross-check is essential

 

  • Strong Communication:
    • This role requires a lot of communication with international agency teams, where English is not usually the first language. We need someone who can communicate in a clear and professional manner, but is also friendly and approachable
    • Someone who is comfortable talking to and presenting to senior clients

 

  • Teamwork:
    • Ability to work within a team (and possibly across teams) and work on own initiative
    • Be responsible for the output and work progress of an Account Executive

 

  • Excel/ PowerPoint:
    • Intermediate skills on both programmes required

 

  • Enthusiasm/ Passion
    • Someone who cares about what they do and has pride in what they deliver
    • Someone who is passionate about media and the opportunities within it

 

 

Key skills & knowledge: 

We are looking for someone with significant media experience, ideally from a media auditing or a media planning and/ or buying background. We would also consider someone from a client media procurement background

We would expect the successful candidate to have a strong understanding of how key media channels are measured (e.g.; GRPs, impacts, impressions), traded and how they can be analyzed on a cost basis. In addition, some hands-on experience of implementational media planning – whether within a single channel or across channels – would be invaluable.

We would also welcome a broad overview of the international media marketplace. Additional languages are not essential but would be an advantage.
