The Role

The Worldwide Data Strategy & Insights team at Mindshare is a data agnostic team passionate about understanding people. We deliver actionable insights to our clients, planners, and activation partners, enabling them to understand the issues at play in the lives of consumers across the world and deploy media effectively and adaptively to influence their buying behaviour.

The Data Strategy & Insights Executive role is key in helping us to meet this goal and, therefore, the needs of our internal and external clients.  

The Ideal Candidate

  • Excited by telling stories from information by weaving different sources together into a convincing whole.
  • Able to think critically and with curiosity about information sources
  • Comfortable manipulating and reshaping data to suit a particular task or tale
  • Able to communicate ideas well, both verbally and written. This need not only be presentation skills, but also explaining complex statistical procedures or conclusions in a 1-to-1 setting.
  • Comfortable and understands media data
  • Media Industry knowledge

Essential Criteria

  • A curious individual who is culturally savvy with a critical thinking mindset.
  • A creative and flexible approach to finding, identifying, and generating insights on cultural shifts and forces shaping people’s behaviour - beyond the ‘what’ to uncover the ‘why’.
  • Fast learner, with the ability to work across multiple workstreams at once
  • Interest in working with a Global media agency
  • Keen to learn new research tools
  • Good interpersonal skills – confident in building relationships within and outside the agency
  • Comfortable with reading and understanding data sets through excel
  • Ability to manage your own time effectively
  • Hard working, but also enjoy socialising as a team

Desirable Criteria

  • An interest in audiences, research and insight.
  • An Interest in Data Strategy and working with 1PD and 2PD.
  • Knowledge of cross tabbing tools e.g. eTelmar or Choices, YouGov, GWI
  • Knowledge of social listening tools e.g Brandwatch

Responsibilities

  • Supporting senior team members in the development and delivery of audience insights for key Mindshare Worldwide clients
  • Supporting senior members of the team with data strategy workstreams, focusing on leveraging 1PD or 2PD for efficient activation in partner platforms
  • Supporting team members to deliver bespoke research projects from beginning to end using both qualitative and quantitative methodologies across a wide range of clients and categories
  • Learning and leveraging insights related data sources at Mindshare to their full capabilities (e.g., trends report through Mintel, data sets within Euromonitor etc)
  • Generating insights using various industry tools and data sources and helping others in their use, including: -
    • Social listening tools such as Brandwatch
    • Industry syndicated tools and data sources such as TGI, Choices or Euromonitor
    • WPP or Mindshare proprietary data sources such as The Mindshare Tracker, BAV or Audience Origin
  • An enthusiastic communicator both in presentation and in writing succinct POVs on industry trends
  • Supporting in delivering regular POVs and presentations under our #ID Culture thought leadership programme
