Overview of role


We need an enthusiastic and passionate Data Exec to work across a variety of EssenceMediacom’s largest and most data-led accounts. This is an entry level role, that will give you excellent exposure across a range of disciplines within data, tech and analytics in media.  


Our data execs are responsible for supporting the operational delivery of the team’s outputs, across the Data Tech & Analytics client media team. The role will include two 6 months placements: 6 months within analytics and data science, and 6 months in data & tech strategy and engineering. You will work closely with technology providers, media owners, clients and third-party platforms for data-led campaign planning, activation and measurement. 



Reporting of the role


The role reports to the Lead Consultant Data & Tech Strategy (for a 6-month placement) and Lead Consultant Analytics (for a 6-month placement).

  1. You will work on the largest and most data-led client in the agency. This is therefore excellent exposure to high level market leading work.  
  2. The two placements across analytics and data science, and then data & tech strategy and engineering, will give you excellent exposure to the whole suite of the team’s work.  
  3. Across these clients we work with a large range of technology, analytics and measurement 3rd parties- your exposure to this array will give you a great grounding in the landscape.  
  4. The clients you will work on are incredibly data-rich, meaning that the datasets you will be analysing will be complex and large.  
  5. The data, tech and analytics team you will be joining is embedded into the wider media team for those accounts- meaning you’ll see first hand how data and tech works seamlessly alongside more traditional media roles.  
  6. The array of media activated across the clients will give you great exposure as to how data & tech are applied across the whole media landscape, and across multiple products and brands.



Measures of success


In three months:

  • You are an established member of the team adding value, support and innovation to the business
  • Learnt about the media planning activation and measurement process, and established strong working relationships with the planning and channel specialist teams, gaining trust through strong attention to detail
  • Completed all relevant EssenceMediacom & third-party training.


In six months:

  • Overseen the data element to several campaigns or workstreams
  • Gained the trust of the Account Manager and Account Director
  • Built strong relationships with the relevant stakeholders at our technology partners.



Responsibilities of the role


Responsible for supporting the operational delivery of the team’s outputs, across the Data Tech & Analytics client media team.

  • Aptitude for learning technical disciplines (for example if you have done coding/analysis/modelling within a degree, and/or online courses etc)

  • Demonstrable interest in the latest technology and its application in business
