Mindshare, MENA, part of Mindshare EMEA, spans 11 offices across markets (Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq) with local market teams and leads, reporting into the MENA CEO. In addition to the Markets, Mindshare also operates Centre of Excellence that works at a Regional level to support and provide disciplines services to all 11 Markets. These Centers of Excellence include Corporate Development, Digital and Solutions, and Growth & Client Leadership.

Role context & Overview:

As businesses continue to be impacted by the fast-evolving changes of digitisation, we have an increasingly important role to play in helping our clients navigate the challenges they bring, in addition to helping a reputable global airlines to build its brand and transform its business.

  • The Global Account Director is responsible for helping to inform a transformation agenda and strategic vision for the clients’ entire business, and overseeing the execution of that vision.
  • The Global Account Director brings creditability to this role in terms of their global technical and operational knowledge including strategic skills, global media channel strategy, account performance and optimisation; networking and collaboration skills, client management and interpersonal skills, people management and communication skills, accuracy of financial management and reporting.​
  • This will involve working closely with global stakeholders across the whole client organization & WPP.


  • Build the capabilities to set up a global planning, implementation and market excellence guidance out of the UAE.
    • Maintain a deep understanding of your clients’ business and the broader industry sector.
    • Maintain strong applied understanding of the rapidly changing industry landscape, and be able to advise clients and colleagues on key market developments and internal products and processes (e.g. Mindshare’s Good Growth narrative, and the world-class suite of GroupM technology and data solutions).
  • Work with the Global Marketing Excellence Guidance team to:
    • Organize and set direction for the overall business over the next 3 years and the role media will play in achieving these goals.
    • Identify a plan to build and develop the marketing discipline within Qatar airways and create a 3 year road map for overarching the marketing ambitions.
    • Identify the client’s needs and work with key specialist(s) to deliver in the areas such as: digital preparedness, competitive benchmarking, audience development, site analytics, objective setting, budget development, campaign prioritization, measurements for success, marketing ROI and partnership ecosystem.
  • Growing the C suite relationships, scope of service and client satisfaction.
  • Own the day to day and where applicable, senior global client relationships and look for opportunities to broaden our relationship beyond marketing.
  • Work in close collaboration with the Global Planning teams at Mindshare who are based in key cities around the world, with particular focus on working effectively with colleagues in London, New York, and Singapore.
  • Effectively lead the network of local markets working on the client’s business, building a strong culture across the network, and ensuring a consistent level of excellence every time.
  • Quality control the overall deliverables to the client, in conjunction with the assigned specialist teams.
  • Navigate conversations with clients to ensure initiatives/briefs align with business goals.
  • Foster innovative thinking and ideas with particular emphasis on content, digital and technology innovation, and the use of data, and the growth of commerce solutions.
  • Demonstrate an understanding for client commercials including effective scoping of resources, quarterly forecasting & helping to identify opportunities for new revenue growth.
  • Act as a change agent within Mindshare by showcasing great work and helping us to drive transformation across the business.
  • Provide input into the marketing of our vision and reputation.
  • Build collaboration with relevant WPP companies and agency partners including media owners, tech partners, content & data providers.
  • Recruit, manage and develop a high performing team to support the scope of work and strategic plans for the client.


Key measures of success:

  • Manage all elements of the client P&L and ensure 20% over-delivery on client OP.
  • 50% Growth in client billings in the next 2 years through pitching for the direct marketing scope.
  • Re-pitch the digital transformation scope for year 2 & 3 to drive retainer revenue.
  • Drive organic growth increase of 25% through the defining and delivering of a transformational scope of work, product and services for the client; not limited to commerce, social, SEO, website and mobile app development, innovation and experience design and research.
  • Deepen Mindshare’s relationship with the client and achieve consistently high client evaluation scores (8.0+), measured through an increase in TRR (or similar metrics).
  • Grow and develop a high performing team in UAE to be measured through an increase in OHI (or similar metrics).
  • Produce 3x award winning work across the account with annual submission to regional and global award festivals including the Dubai Lynx, MENA & Global Effies, Festival of Media, & Cannes.

Candidate Experience:

  • The ideal candidate will be viewed as a thought leader across the brand building, data & technology landscape, including performance, digital ecosystems, digital transformation, analytics, and digital innovation, who key stakeholders look to for guidance on industry trends and topics and is someone who can represent Mindshare in the industry within their respective markets. The lead should have extensive relationships with key technology partners at a senior level with the ability to extract value from these partnerships. This would come from a proven track record in building strong regional and global client relationships, either within a media agency, a client organization, or a technology & data agency.
  • The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of the assigned clients’ industry sectors and business challenges, with experience in Travel & Tourism, and Government Practice.
  • Previous experience recruiting, managing and inspiring a client team.
