Senior SEO Executive


Overview of role

As a Senior SEO Executive, your role will be to play an active part in contributing to your client’s organic strategies, delivering impactful tasks, contributing to client calls and driving results under the supervision of your Account Director.


Having already gained a strong understanding of the fundamentals of SEO, you will be provided with the support and training to build upon these skills even further. You will develop a deeper understanding of all aspects of SEO from technical SEO troubleshooting to on-page optimisations, with an award-winning team of specialists on hand to support you when needed. You will be present during and contribute to client calls and meetings, whilst taking ownership of certain aspects of client campaign deliverables under the supervision of your Account Director. You’ll assist your Account Director in the deliver of outstanding work for clients, and you’ll have the opportunity to attend internal sharing sessions to learn about success stories from across the department.


You will eventually be expected to lead accounts autonomously, with the potential to assist in the management of more junior team members.


Reporting of the role


You will report to your SEO Account Director.

Measures of success


In three months, you would have:

  • Established fluid working relationships with your SEO team, the planning & management teams, and your main client stakeholders
  • Adjusted to the day-to-day flow of your role and successfully integrated into your client workstreams


In six months, you would have:

  • Taken ownership of certain aspects of campaign deliverables at the discretion of your Account Director
  • Built out your SEO skillset, allowing you to manage clients more effectively and confidently


In 12 months, you would have:

  • Begun to assume full responsibility of SEO campaign management, overseeing all aspects from strategy to meetings



Responsibilities of the role


As a Senior SEO Executive, you’ll be expected to work at pace and scale, with responsibilities including:

  • Assisting your Account Director in the day-to-day management of the SEO campaigns that sit within your team
  • Taking full ownership of the delivery of any campaigns or tasks assigned to you
  • Delivering outstanding work to clients across all aspects of SEO, from keyword research to technical healthchecks to competitor analyses
  • Presenting your work to clients as part of weekly and/or monthly calls and meetings
  • Opportunities to contribute towards client strategy
  • Liaising regularly with the editorial and digital PR teams to ensure briefs are clear and goals are aligned
  • Ensuring you keep up to date with developments in the SEO marketplace through reading trade press

What you will need


  • Experience in a SEO role, preferably in an agency environment
  • A genuine passion and interest in SEO and digital marketing at large
  • A positive, can-do attitude, and an eagerness to learn and develop
  • A commercial and analytical mindset, with an awareness of the bigger picture
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Clear communication and strong organisational skills
  • Experience using the essential SEO tools, such as Screaming Frog, Google Analytics & Search Console, Looker Studio, Google Business Profiles, SEMrush, SISTRIX etc
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
