Role context:

The Account Director is responsible for driving the delivery of best in class planning within their team, leading and coordinating agency specialists and team members, and demonstrating sound understanding of client and business communication needs.   

Working within a team of planners/strategists, the Account Director role is central to delivering success for our clients. The breadth of our work means that the successful candidate will be involved in elements of both planning and account management.

About you:

  • Proven leadership skills, being able to organise and motivate both your immediate team and wider, including implementation specialists 
  • Strong communication skills, conveying credible confidence when dealing with key clients and internal stakeholders 
  • Good understanding of performance best practice; whilst each account is brand led, conversion and acquisition KPI’s are also a key component 
  • Great story telling skills – to give our ideas and thinking the best chance to come to life for our clients 
  • Is aware of Wavemaker and industry data tools and encourages the use of data within their team and its application in all work to generate insight and improve performance.

About the role:

  • Build and maintain client and agency relationships at a mid-senior level.
  • Deliver media recommendations to clients.
  • Deliver best in class touchpoint strategies and planning responses.
  • Effectively use data to build strong, succinct and data driven planning recommendations – geared towards delivering growth for the clients businesses.
  • Champions the use of Wavemaker planning tools, inspiring creativity and innovative solutions to deliver growth for clients.
  • Create well thought through decks which requires minimal input from colleagues to make it ‘client ready’.
  • Collaborate with and effectively brief activation teams in order to create holistic media recommendations.
  • Be the central point of contact for client comms, and coordination of in-campaign and post-campaign actions.
  • Prioritise the workload of the team,  ensuring all client requirements are met in a timely, professional and efficient manner.
  • Aid the Client Lead with tasks such as forecasting, reviewing SLAs, completing end-of-year reviews, etc.
  • Leading your team and keep people motivated and engaged, ensuring a training, development and feedback programme is in place for Managers/Executives
  • Actively participate in new business projects and pitches.
