The Role Objective


International Account Planner working on Universal Pictures International (Theatrical) with responsibility for account co-ordination, reviewing local media market plans, client reporting, junior digital and strategic support.

We are incredibly proud of the long-standing relationship with NBCUniversal we have at MediaCom, spanning over 10 years. Of all their division which we work across, which include Home Entertainment, New Media, TV Networks and Hayu, Universal Pictures International is by far the largest division in terms of budget internationally.


The international team at MediaCom oversees local agency teams in EMEA, LATAM and APAC in over 20 different countries.


The planner will sit within a core UPI Account Team, consisting of digital and strategy specalists.


This role will offer the chance to work on some of the most exciting upcoming film releases, such Minions, Sing 2 and Fast & Furious 9 just to name a few!


Our client team is incredible fast-paced as the industry is ever changing, especially during these challenging times. We at MediaCom operate as an extension of the Theatrical client and have full visibility on all media projects.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience


We are looking for an inquisitive, proactive, and highly-organised person to take on this exciting role. Given the fast-paced nature of entertainment, the role will require the candidate to respond to all requests and project briefs with speed, accuracy and enthusiasm within the agreed deadlines.


Account Coordination: Plan Checking, Reporting & Market coordination

  • Review local market media plans to ensure plans are aligned with the central strategy and relevant planning tools have been used in the planning process (planning background required)
  • Liaise with local agency teams to collate details of local planning and implementation, post campaign reports and any adhoc client requests
  • Act as a central contact point for local agency teams and facilitate the sharing of information between markets
  • Produce regular and ad-hoc reports and summaries for client use; e.g. adhoc competitive reports, newsletters, status sheets and more
  • Attend client meetings to develop client management and presentation skills


Strategic Support

  • Support Strategy Team with template set up, information collation and multi-market requests
  • Help prepare media landscapes for key title releases
  • Support the team in compiling research and insights to drive the communications strategy on forthcoming movie releases
  • Prepare key reports including consumer insight deep dives and competitive reports


Digital Support

  • Support Digital Director with market coordination projects such as digital reporting tool management (mReport) across markets, troubleshooting and escalating critical issues in a timely manner
  • Assist in implementing programmatic and ad tech strategy across the agency network, in close collaboration with our sister agency, Essence
  • Support the Digital team in developing POVs on key digital publishers and identifying relevant partnership opportunities




  • Knowledge of international media, preferably with digital background
  • Excellent attention to detail combined with an ability to see the bigger picture
  • A genuine enthusiasm for film and entertainment
  • Strong organisational skills, time management and ability to work within a team
  • Highly numerate with an ability to interrogate and draw conclusions from data
  • Confident, with good communication skills
  • Pro-active and inquisitive with a passion to learn
  • Good computer skills – especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Preferred experience of using media insight and reporting tools, including Choices and ComScore.
